Gus G22 Telescopic

Any one here have experience w/ the Gus G22 telescopic mod? This is my first mechanical mod and i was hoping to do some modding. I've looked through the forums and found some forums that talk about switching the hot spring out to brass, however, i can not post since i am a new user! I stumbled across a post by, Keegan101, switching the hot spring for a 10/32 brass screw.

Is there any danger of replacing the hot spring w/ a brass screw? If I'm not mistaken, isn't the hot spring protection mechanism?

When replacing the hot spring with a brass screw, do you remove the 510 connector? Can't really tell from the pictures others have posted Sorry if question may seem dumb, first time doing any of this.

Just replaced spring with #10 - 32 brass screw. Pretty happy with the results. Probably post pictures soon.
