LORD Top-Cap Fuse Swap with other Pos Pins

Well many seem to be averse to the "Fuse" in the Gus Top-Cap and enquired whether it could be swapped with Pos Pins from other mods. Yes absolutely, here's some pics...

Bottomline: Pretty much every mod's Positive Pin/Post (whether Telescopic or Straight Screw) can be put inside the Top-Cap of the Gus-LORD. They all seem to be threaded the same... same dimensions. And length doesn't matter since the Gus-LORd is a telescopic mod. You can thus screw it's bottom-body in to fit any Battery &/or Atty.

I hope that helped.

Just got my Paps pins yesterday - I agree - you cant use them in 18350 mode

Caravela Pins also work - BUT - none are long enough for 18350 mode - they are M5 screws the longest being 9mm. So if you got some that were longer, then they could accommodate 18350

Since I have no issue with the fuse - I use it the way it was intended. I also just screw off the add on part for 18350 and leave original screw in for 18490 batts.

But I got so many pm's I had to try the Paps so I knew for sure before I opened my mouth. Too many people to my opinion worry needlessly about the fuse. Now they have options for an excellent - not to be overlooked PV

Far as Im concerned - I wasted 16.00 on Paps pins and shipping just to let people know who are FUSE leary

Before I click buy on this.....

I was thinking Lord with AFC, but then I do not at this time use any atties on a mech that need AFC.... I really appreciate the thought and effort that went into the AFC...
I could save some money and order the one without AFC.
I could avoid making the decision and buy both of them.

Help me! I can't make my mind up!

Hi FTX,

The difference in price between the LORD and the LORD-Lite is 20 EUR. Yep, that looks substantial ~ so, if you'd never use any Tank-RBA types - then go for it. B'coz, for all practical purposes the Lite and the 'full' LORD are otherwise the same.

But hey, did you hear about the Sophia (by Leo), or the Diver v2 (by Atmistique)? Well, many of us use those two fantastic Tank-RBAs ~ if you ever go for anything like them in the future - the Air-Flow Cap of the LORD might be calling.

Think about it and make your call buddy!

I do not yet have a Sophia (or plans for it) but I do have the Diver v2 flange-less on "the list", I plan on giving it a BilletBox to live in.

I am leaning more towards the AFC to be future proof "Just in Case" :)

I am more of a Kayfun and RDA kinda guy ~usually.

How low(resistance) have you guys gone on the factory fuse?

My Omega is at a respectable 0.45 ohms.
I am pushing close to 9 amps, and would rather not "test" the fuse while i am out and about...
i just have a solid bras M5 screw in it now...

I've been on the hunt for some 10 Amp fuses... nothing locally :(

Thanks for the link...

I normally go to this place for all my electronic tinkering needs.
A1 Electronic Parts

but the guy there is kind of an ......, and will look at you like you are an idiot if you do not know the exact model number of the part you want... as if you are "inconveniencing" him by just asking for guidance. :glare:

Better hurry there are only 2 more AFC Lords in stock :rickroll:

I went ahead and ordered the extra fuse kit while I was at it. The kit comes with a 12 amp good down to .3

Total was still less than 200$

IMO, A good value for a mod of this quality and workmanship.

I put a 12 amp fuse in mine for just in case. I believe (cant remember now) Kantik runs the 5 amp fuse at .8 with no problem. (for those who wish to know)

Yep, I still have the stock fuse (5A) and run 0.8Ω K'funs on it. No issues. I however fetched all the fuses Gus has, including the 12As just in case.

I've been lusting after this mod for over a month now, think I'm going to order one along with the Estia and matching Lord drip tip when it all becomes available.

How have you guys been finding it on a day to day basis? Does telescoping it in and out score the inner tube as can happen on some telescoping mods?
