Anyone know how to strip the Groove down, the button is becoming problematic, need to press hard to get it to fire so want to replace the button, cant see how to remove the button by the way the Groove has been machined. I know its a old mod, have had it 3 years but I like it, nice solid heavy lump of metal

Sorry I do not know and couldn't find anything useful via google-fu. It is an interesting mod, like an earlier version of the Kanger NEBOX. Unless it spins off from the front like a screw I would not want to even attempt it as it must be sunk into that great slab of machined metal via sorcery. Sounds like the spring may be going out to me if it has one, or the sealed rubber deal that does the same thing. In any event the best I can suggest is try to contact the original manufacturer as you may need professional help and original parts.
Failing that there are a few similar mods out now that are similar if you prefer that style
Lol, I've never even seen one. However, looking at the pics, that appears to be a standard vandal proof momentary contact pushbutton switch. THey usually are mounted by putting them through a hole in the panel and installing a locknut on the rear, threaded portion of the switch. It would, of course, be perfectly possible to thread the switch into any matching-thread receiver. You could try unscrewing it from the box panel, but it will have wires attached so you're probably break them. I suspect you need to get at the guts of the mod to unscrew the lock nut. The good news is, if you can, the switch is easily available.
Thank you for letting me know it had the intended effect! But seriously, that thing is just big slab of metal with a button on it, and 2 holes drilled out, and a door hinged rather smartly on the bottom. I would think one would need actual sorcery, or an endoscope to work on it.
I've only seen a handful of them to be honest - never owned one, so I'm unsure of the maintenance or disassembly of them.

Thanks NightShadow, was hoping it would unscrew but wont budge so suspect it might be glued in (hope not) as to the original manufacturer they don't seem to be around any more, I did know their names but have now forgotten, I remember them being interviewed at a vape meet in the US,will have to see if I can find it on youtube, I think they were ecf members so was hoping for response. As for getting a replacement
I would rather sort this one out, it feels like it should last forever, a solid lump, shame the switch is failing
Yep,def a vandal proof momentary contact switch, have got a few kicking about, used to make mods got a couple gold plated waiting to go in but can't figure out how to remove. No access to the back of the switch and wont unscrew, I think the wires where soldered on then the switch magicked in

I had to jury rig a switch in my first tube mod, moving parts like buttons will all fail eventually, the spring will break or go too soft. If you can tear it down as far as you are able and shine a very bright light inside to see if there is any hope of self repair. Otherwise I fear the only options are to keep using it as is until it fails completely or use another mod, unless the following help...

I have quite a few mods and have had no real problems maintaining stripping and repairing them when necessary but this one has me stumped
Thanks for your help NightShadow, Steve and TroopX now ring a bell, have already tried the GoodVaporMods website with no luck. as for taking it apart the only thing you can take of is the bottom cover everything else is buried in the top end and yes have tried using a endoscope, didnt show much but dead ends, no idea how this was put together. I have plenty of mods I can use, about 50 (shinyitis) but this is my only squonk mod, not long got a chalice v3 to go with it so would like to resurrect it if possible, thought someone on ecf would have some insight
