This is more H.R. to H.R. talk. Of course the consensus is going to be 'lump it with tobacco' which is why I broke the link. Though they did hit a few talking points on testing and vaping use.

Where possible: Vapers should be aware, if not involved if you have an awesome H.R. department, of how policies are discussed before being set.

The Article said:
Strive for tobacco-free work environments and ban e-cigarette use in smoke-free work areas. If you do have a designated smoking area, try to also establish a separate area for e-cigarette users. This will keep e-cigarette users safe from secondhand smoke and will help employees who are using e-cigarettes as a replacement for combustible tobacco use not to relapse into smoking.

I wish that more companies would have a separate vaping area.

Some of the recommendations are good, a lot of them bad, and a bunch of bad information given.

An example of the good:
"If your company offers incentives to employees to achieve and maintain good health, target tobacco use instead of nicotine use as a measure."

Example of the bad:
"Considering that the number of young people who report using e-cigarettes has tripled in the last year, and the fact that this trend is expected to continue its rapid, upward trajectory, employers and public health experts have good reason to take note and be concerned about the future health of their workforces and communities."

Leave the warping of implications of poorly formed surveys out of decisions on workplace rules, please. Especially regarding minors not old enough to work there.

She has been integrally involved in national policy around worksite wellness, published several peer-reviewed articles, and collaborated with leading experts to develop policy guidance. Replying to myself: Target smoking, maybe, but leave smokeless tobacco, especially snus alone. That is if you really must get involved at all in employee health. That involvemnet sure lends itself to all sorts of abuse, as we've seen. The only way it can be productive is if done with full honesty, unpolluted intentions, and guided by factual information.
