Had my first battery vent....

I put my dinner (chicken sandwich) on my desk, then had to pee. While I was in there, my dog went up on the desk and knocked over my vape. Battery partially fell out and shorted center to ground.

No damage, it got hot and stinky, but otherwise, it just messed up a battery.

The dog got my dinner... Nothing bad happened at all, it just shorted out and got hot, started venting and stunk like hell. Not sure now since I tossed it outside. IMR batteries die nicely.

Dog missed movie night for that also. I sat on love seat with dog, nothing on TV and gave him a rub, said, "That was a great 2 hour movie" then left couch. Punishment.

It can happen to ANYone. Glad it seemed mild to you, there was no pressure except in the cells own construction. Inside of a poorly designed mod, or in the presence of flammable materials, the result can be much more.. spectacular.

That doesn't mean I don't want to see your Dog Shaming pic, though!

Imrem IIRC. It's still outside and still pitch black. I'll grab it after sunrise and post.

It was an IMREN 2800mah (label says 30A max). Hard to read the shrink wrap now that it's all deformed from the heat. It didn't explode, just got really hot and stinky.

But note that the way it partially fell out of the mod, it was a dead short.

Seems like you should practice the same precautions of keeping your MOD out of the hands of youngsters for your animals. I bet the dag was more interested in the sandwich and the MOD was just in the way. Good thing no one got hurt and no damage.

Yep. It wasn't in a safe place. All it takes is a mistimed pee, but as we both said, nothing happened.
