Just submitted a letter to the Opinion portion of our local paper's online publication. Hopefully it will be published in the near future.
Basically I stated how the e-cigs have allowed me to kick the habit of smoking cigarettes. I did state they were a reduced harm product and not a smoking cessation product.
This will hopefully get the word out about e-cigs to the general public. Lots of smokers in my corner of Indiana that probably have never heard of e-cigs before. The Opinion column also allows for people to post responses to letters that are published as well. Should prove interesting to see what others have to say if my letter does get published.

I think we really do need a good media blitz about e-cigs. If I'm not mistaken, most newspapers now have an online edition and many of those have an opinion section where readers can submit letters for publishing. Most will be limited to about 500 words, so one has to be brief, but specific to get the word out.

Good luck. I submitted one to a local paper months ago and it still hasn't been published, nor do I expect it to be.

A also wrote a reporter at another paper to see if he'd do an article (he was against the smoking ban). Didn't get anywhere with that one either.

If it gets published, post a link---will make sure to comment.

If this one doesn't get published then I'll send in another and another and another until it does. I'm spreading the word about e-cigs to everyone that will listen. My husband and I have already been the reason that at least 3 others that we know have started using e-cigs, and they are now passing the word along as well.

This is supposed to be the land of the free in the USA, but the FDA is trying to turn it into a totalitarian country where we no longer have the right to decide for ourselves what we can or cannot do. I'm tired of the government stepping on my rights as a citizen, they work for me, not I for them.

Keep spreading the word about e-cigs and keep reminding the government that they work for us, not the other way around.
