So I'm sitting at work, being bored because it's absolutely dead when without thinking I am taking pull after pull on my vaporizer when all of a sudden I taste it.

I've taken a dry hit and utterly burn the Cotten.

Well at this point I would normally pull the Cotten out and rewick it but I'm at work and won't be getting home for another two hours. So I must make due.

Armed with my hands I open it up to find the damage. I dig the Cotten around until finally I get it in a straight line and pull it slightly to the right. It's confirmed that the Cotten is blackened. I take hold of the Cotten, juice getting all over my hands and begin to try to nudge it out without ripping it. I pull just enough and begin to fumble with it to remove the blackened part. SUCCESS. Now I must be carefull as I don't have much wick left. I pull the wick until it is even and rearrange it and finally am able to put the lid back on. I test it out and sigh in relief. It worked.

Next time I'm bringing a kit with me.

Chipotle.
In case of emergency you can use your company First Aid kit that should have some kind of sterile/not sterile gauze pads that made from cotton.
Been there done that!

I'm really sorry for whoever decides they need a bunch of gauze for an injury at my shop...there's none left in there haha.

I started carrying 2 extra cotton wicks in case that happens. I just realized I had a box small enough to also carry an extra coil or two. The screwdriver is already in the kit.

You did exactly what I would have done, although I could wait 2 hours if need be. I used to have to wait 4 hours between cigarettes when at work...

I'm not sure why?

But I just had one of those Mental Movies of someone Cutting their Finger at work and standing at the First Aid Kit saying...

"What the Hell Happened to all the Gauze Packs? And what happened to the Tweezers?"

... while small Drops of Blood Drip onto a White Tiled Floor.

LOL

First aid kit for vapers who drip at work/on the go: 1 Tiny swiss army knife, you know, for the tweezers, scissors, and toothpick. 1 cotton ball, or several pre-pulled wicks folded in a small square of tin foil. 1 extra charged ( more is better) battery in a poly bag. Good to go! :)

I found an EpiPen bag at Goodwill that works perfectly as a kit bag. It holds a few batteries, a back up tank and coil, juice, screwdriver, and cotton with room left over for my phone charger. My theory is I always carried an extra pack of cigarettes in case of emergency so I do the same with vaping equipment.

Yep, carry a kit. Backup mod, batteries and pre-filled tanks. If nothing goes wrong I can last 3 days with my kit. I do not refill tanks or swap coils unless at home.

This is a cool thread but this post had me laughing. For some reason I was picturing "Sheldon (BBT)" pointing in airplane landing style, and the emergency survival kits are located in the hall closet, the bathroom closet, and of course my own personal disaster survival kit is located in my closet.

I got a hanging, toiletry travel bag for my gear when out and about. I cut off the part that I could use as a hanger though, as it took up too much space when I zipped the bag up. I have a spool of kanthal zipped into the mesh on the top section of the bag, and the end piece of kanthal pushed through the mesh so that I can just pull it and cut a piece from it as needed. The rest of the bag is everything else. A couple of spare tanks in the elastic loops, scissors, tweezers, cotton pads in zip lock baggies....
