Long story short I put a picture of my ego-T up on Tuesday and explained what it was. I was very happy with it and not smoking. Next day had to go to the dentist, couldn't eat due to pain for a few days. Sinuses were pressing down on nerves on the entire upper left side of my teeth. Had a picture of the x-ray because it was kind of a stunning diagnosis, and it was blamed on severe allergies which many of my friends have. Got some vicodin, rx strength decongestant, and antibiotic from the dentist. Husband bought me some cheesecake which I took my meds with because it hurt to chew and I can't take it on an empty belly.

Friend of mine called me out as a "party-parent" without using my name, but my exact circumstances. Soap boxed about being an example to my kids, and finished by saying "it's never too late to change." Did it on his page too, so all his stranger friends could jump in and crap all over me out of context. I was pretty angry, still am.

Did/do you guys face this? What do you do? My reaction was to set him straight in grand fashion, own he was talking about me by c/p the posts of the "issues" he referenced, and thank him for revealing what a passive aggressive waste of time he is. I'm not looking for sympathy so much as needing to rant. Ugh, people.

Oh yeah Tiesel it's safe to say we're no longer acknowledging each others existence. Shame too, we knew each other from a shared charity experience. I saw totally red when I saw what he'd written. His exact words were "pill popping party parent with a new smoke toy." As we all know, being able to eat is trivial, and so is not smoking when you have kids.

Wow, he needs to live his own life, like A LOT. Your "smoke toy" is a nicotine replacement delivery system so you can quit smoking around your kids and your meds are, well, meds prescribed by your doctor so you can continue to function as a parent. Now, if you were popping those pills while doing shots of vodka that you just got out of your freezer and calling everyone over to party with you and forgetting to feed your kids... then you'd be a party parent. Don't let it get to you. You are doing great and quitting smoking on top of a debilitating, (sinus infections for me have been debilitating), is really difficult, but you are doing it.

ETA: Maybe he called you that because you ate cheesecake?!?

Cloud Wizard, I have no idea! I'm guessing it's any parent who isn't a joyless automaton. More likely it was just an insult meant to insinuate what a self indulgent jerk I am for using my dental benefits and trying to quit smoking.
Perhaps he's actually envious of your cool family, strength to change and good fortune to have dental coverage that actually provide for discomfort (vs the acient art of clobbering someone over the head with big stick to dull the pain).

Eat more cheesecake and toast a vape to his good fortune (always better to take the high road of compassion)

dlsw I LOVE your cake guess, it was mine too! I now have to post what I wrote to him that was not a c/p of what I already said here. Don't know the rules on swearing, it's not flagrant, but I was mad. Also I found it to be a totally appropriate time to get all "colorful metaphor" but I'll edit for here.

Passive aggressive is so ....* made and pathetic. I guess you didn't read the 2 prior to my last one and decided to get all moral. The entire left side of my mouth having it's nerves smashed and being unable to eat is "partying" naturally. Feels like I got hit in the face by a baby fisted Tyson. Probably because I ate it with cake, and nothing says PARTY! like cake amirite? Cake that interestingly enough, I ate alone because John was doing whatever and the kids were in bed. Whatever though, "party" of one is BAD MOMMING.

Well. Having not been raised in a bubble, I've been prescribed pain killers for various reasons all my life. Anyone who hasn't is living too sheltered imo. Go out and break a bone doing something interesting, NOW. As far as smoking goes, If I have to explain why stopping is good then you have bigger issues than a mouth huge enough to shove your foot in for the internet to see. Do you have the same disdain for lozenges and patches, or is reading comprehension to blame here?

I hide most of my questionable statuses from the >18 crowd, didn't realize it was fellow parents that would benefit from it most. Then again you've gotten your child to the ripe old age of 5 months, and therefor know all. I'm going to continue to use my health benefits I pay for however the ....... I want, and making the distinction between a doctor and a drug dealer if that's ok with you."

I'm going with maroon, idiot, run-of-the-mill AH. I was extremely clear about what was going on, I mean I uploaded the x-ray out of surprise a sinus tooth-nerve smashing was even possible. I also linked the ego-t info from the shop I bought it from because as a newbie I figured vendor info would be helpful in understanding. I was thrown under the bus so he could get his "internet concerned citizen" gold star for the day. Clarity isn't required I guess.

We are no longer friends. It was utterly surprising, but judging from the responses, a rarity. Thankful for that and chalking it up to random AH behavior. Was really hoping for that rather than vape drama on the regular!
