Here's my story. I smoked for 28 years and decided it was time to quit but didn't like the options that doctors give. No drugs, no patches, no gum. I hate taking drugs, didn't want something stuck to my skin, and the gum was horrible. Plus chewing the gum and smoking at the same time wasn't a good thing I guess. What other choices did I have? I remembered 2 years ago, my daughter telling me about ecigs but was stubborn at the time and didn't want to cough up that much money for something that seemed like a gimmick.

One night at work, out in the little smokehouse, I kept seeing a co-worker with a blue light that would go on and off. Finally, I couldn't resist any longer, and asked him what the heck he had. He said a Joye 510. I asked what it was. An electronic cigarette. Hmmm...more questions started coming out of me. Does it work for you? Yes. How long have you quit smoking? 2 weeks. Are you having withdrawals? No. Where can I get one? Online. He gave me a few websites to check. Every break, I asked more and more questions and kept thinking to myself, this may be the answer to my 4 pack a day habit.

On August 15th, 2010, I placed an order for a 510 kit and some juices. The kit arrived at my home on August 18th, but I had to get to work so I plugged the batteries in with orders to my daughter to unplug them when they turned green. Off to work I went. It was a long night. I kept thinking of this wonderful new device awaiting my arrival at home.

On August 19th, at 6:36am CST, I arrived home. Pulled in the driveway, got out of the car, and smashed out my last cigarette. I went inside, put my ecig together, and started vaping. The cartridges that came with the kit weren't terrible, weren't great either, but vapable. Enough to keep me going and not want to smoke.

When the mail arrived that morning, some of my new juices and cartridges were waiting for me in the mailbox. I loaded one up, and was very pleased with the flavor. I kept thinking that this was really going to work for me...and it did.

When I left for work that night, I left the cigarettes at home and only took my ecigs with me. I was determined to quit once and for all. I haven't regretted it, haven't fallen off the wagon, and have not looked back once. I haven't missed my little devil friends at all.

August 19th, 2010 at 6:36am CST was when I put my last cigarette out. I will never go back to smoking even if it means having to give up nicotine completely.

So for you new folks who have joined us, it works. I've been smoke free for 1 year. So, please, if you have questions like I did when first starting, ask...don't be shy...just ask. We're here to help you just like the members were here to help me.

Over the past year, I've met a bunch of wonderful people on this forum. I thank each and everyone of you who have helped me along the way and answered questions that I had. This community has gone above and beyond in sharing of information and caring for each other. I'm glad to be a part of it.

My only regret in this vaping journey, was not finding ECF until one month later.

Stay Hydrated and Vape On!

I agree with you tyleris12. If it weren't for this huge family here, I don't know if I would have made it. There is so much to learn about ecigs and this is a great place to do it. I'm glad that people took my hand and walked me through all of this.

A late congrats on your one year also and for recommending more of Annette's juices.
