Hi all, I haven´t been in this forum much in the past six months simply because vaping has been working great for me but it is good to be back. In a few days it will be one year since I have had a cigarette :) This is after smoking for 40 years. I was smoking 2 and a half packs a day and imagined I would die a smoker.

I have kept track and I have spent about $500 on vaping this year and my computer program tells me I have saved over $3000 on cigarettes. That includes about 2 years worth of nic I have in the freezer.

I lowered the nic from 18mg to 15mg about a month ago and all is well (not sub om). I mix my own and add very little flavoring.

My blood pressure is perfect and about a month ago I went back to the gym. The gym is hard but I have been sticking with it. It isn´t hard because I vape or use to smoke. It is hard because I am 53 and out of shape :) but it is much better at removing stress than sitting down and smoking a whole pack of cigarettes.

I don´t have much of an urge to smoke anymore except when I am near a friend who smokes and I smell it. When I get the urge from smelling it I just move up wind and don´t judge them. I remember that I am healthier, richer and that a few of my friends who smoke have had strokes this past year.

Now a few of my non smoking non vaping friends are happy for me but have told me that there are new studies that have come out that say vaping is bad yada yada yada... I am sure that the healthiest thing is to only breath filtered oxygen but what I have been living this past year is a dream. Anyone wish to share some common sense thoughts on the benefits and risks of vaping?

This form helped me out a great deal in the first few months buying stuff and when I got my first dry hit  and I just wanted to say THANK YOU and share a positive story with you today.

Dan

Well done on a year, and yeah they'll always try to find stuff bad with it but the fact is it's 95% more healthy than smoking. My Grandad smoked in to his 70's, he's now been vaping for 3 years an looks and sounds so much better!
He must of smoked for 50 years or more at least. Plenty of people say it helps them too so don't listen to the haters an media, be proud of your year cigarette free:D

Hi again @Dan40!

I remember when you first posted on here. Congratulations on it being almost a year now since your last smoke! It does feel great, doesn't it...to be able to accomplish that after decades of smoking?

Other than the link posted above, about vaping being 95% safer than smokes...there is info. on, and links to, other studies, reasearch results, etc. that have been posted on ECF. But, I can't seem to find them now.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about trying to convince others of the benefits of vaping. There will always be those who can't be convinced...especially when there's so much negative media about it out there. You know what a difference it's made in your own health and well-being, as well as what you've probably read that others on here have posted about their own improvements healthwise.

Again, congratulations on your upcoming milestone! It IS a big deal!
