hi guys. new to this forum if that isn't already too obvious. i quit smoking 3 weeks back and have been vaping a halo g6 with the refillable carts and a mini tank when I'm home. so, having a little issue. since i started vaping i have been using multiple e juice brands such as suicide bunny, cosmic fog and a few local brands. never had any issues running them through my cartomizers, they always vaped nicely producing good vapor and flavor. as of yesterday i went to fill a carto with more cosmic fog cola gummy (have used this multiple times with good results) waited for the juice to dry, and upon vaping i realized i wasn't getting really any vapor, the ever so slight "vaping" noise my halo usually makes was not there, and it tasted slightly off. tried filling another new carotmizer with cosmic fog milk and honey - same results. i have never experienced issues with either the halo cartomizers or with the brands named inside of them thus far. as a new vaper, i did not know you weren't supposed to leave e juice in sunlight. the bottles of juice have been sitting on top of my cabinet in (not exactly direct, but decent) exposure to sunlight since i bought them. they've been there for roughly 3 days (i bought them, had them downstairs in my living room for a while where they weren't exposed, then moved them up there 3 days ago). they have also been partially uncapped for the majority of the time I've had them. could that be the culprit behind the juices not vaping properly this time around? or did i get some bunk cartomizers? thanks in advance for the help.

Some of the water or PG in the juice might have evaporated, thickening the juice. MAYBE it's gone bad, but I don't think so. If the carto isn't making noise, it isn't firing. Clean the end of the carto that screws into the battery with a cotton swab and vodka (NOT rubbing alcohol... quite toxic). Do the same with the end of the battery that screws into the carto. Let them evaporate dry. For good measure, UNPLUG the charger and do the same with it (the end the battery plugs into). Maybe something is just gunked.

Sounds like a battery problem not a carto problem.

808 threaded batteries are notorious for getting the positive post of the battery pushed in a little. You might try a straight pin, tiny screw driver, end of a paper clip, to slightly (very slightly) wiggle the center post of the battery out just a hair. It may not be making contact with the carto. Does the battery fire the mini tank? Does the battery light up? Is it turned on?

3 days is really not a lot of time to degrade your liquids...but yeah, cool dark place is better.

thanks for all the help guys, really appreciated. so, as far as the battery i don't think its that. i have a cartomizer that was filled before my issues started and its firing properly, making the normal noise, tastes great and is producing good vapor. tried both batteries (i have 2 batteries) on that cartomizer and both worked fine. its only when i try and use the cartomizers (the two i filled this morning with the e juice that had been left on the cabinet uncapped) that i have issues. very very strange lol.

Hi, phlops.

First off, Congratulations on 3 weeks!!!
:toast:
And welcome to the forum!
Sunlight does degrade the nicotine in liquids. And just as a safety issue, leave uncapped bottles where no one can get them. The only reason to leave them uncapped is to let them "air out", letting some alcohols or perfumy stuff to evaporate out.

Having said that, you might have a few bum cartos. An invaluable tool for vapers is a multimeter. You can get a cheap one at Harbor Freight for under $10. (but it is cheap and not meant for anything too important, like checking a sub-ohm coil). But for you, it would tell you if the coil in the carto is still good. You should get a reading of between 2.4 and 2.8 ohms.

Have you cleaned the cartos? I remember seeing videos of people flushing them out with a syringe to force warm water through it. Then shake out the water and let them dry for a while. Like at least a day.
(edit, just saw your post above, never mind...)
When you take a hit, does the battery lite up?

Good luck!!!

:)

I'm thinking it might be a couple bum cartos. Most any liquid would still get a sizzle and some vapor.

The cleaning of the contact ends is a good suggestion. I use rubbing alcohol (isopropryl). Just make sure it all evaporates. And just a bit on the cotton swab.

You might try them again in a while. If they still don't work, mark them with some tape so you don't mix them up, then check them on a multimeter when you get one, borrow one from a friend, or visit your flvs. (friendly local vape shop)

Don't tighten them onto the bat too tight.

Oh, and just for you, here's a code to get 10% off Halo eliquids any day.

ECFTEN2014

(yea, it does still work)

You can also try to wiggle out the posts on the carto slightly. You should get something in the way of vapor, even if the cartos are gunky...and these are new. So either they are just bad coils inside the cartos, or they are not making a connection. That's really the only possibilities IMO. If they are bottom coil cartos, I guess it is possible that the liquid is not getting down to the coil, but I assume you are well versed in filling the cartos.

Are they Halo cartos? I used a similar battery and carto setup from Smokeless Image years ago. I went off the reservation and ordered some Kanger cartos in bulk from another supplier. For some reason, about 1/2 of those cartos would not make a connection until I wiggled the posts out just a bit.

Sounds like 2 bum cartos, unfortunately. Even with zero liquid in them, they should fire. At least they're cheap. Go to your local vape shop and pick one up. Your juice should be ok, even if your nic level might have dropped a little. As long as it doesn't have the consistency of honey, it should work great. Fill the new carto and let her sit upright for 5-10 min. Should fire like a champ.
