Hello Vapers!!!

I'm a newbie...to this forum as well as vaping in general, and I've already learned so much from the posts here...so thank you! :D I just received my Halo G6 e-cig starter kit and sample package a couple of days ago...Yay!!! Most of the experience is just as I'd hoped for...there's only one thing that's bothering me. There is a very strong chemical taste in every flavor I've tried (7 flavors altogether in tobacco, gourmet, AND menthol varieties) that tastes very much like smoking methamphetamine...YIKES!!! I am way past that part of my life, and I don't want that flavor to ruin my vaping experience. I am currently in the process of steeping my liquids, so I should know whether or not this helped when I have an empty cartomizer to test the steeped stuff; but I have a feeling that this effect might be produced by the PG (Halo currently offers their liquids in 100% PG base only.). I'm thinking about ordering a sample of a PG/VG blend from another company, but I read that using VG in a cartomizer can seriously shorten its life (although from what I understand, Halo's carts are built a little differently to be longer lasting than others?). So, my two questions are: Does anyone know the effects of a juice with a PG/VG blend on a G6 carto's life (educated guesses also welcome! )? Or...Does anyone know if there are any less expensive cartomizers out there that would fit a G6 battery? I know the second question is probably stupid, but stupid needs an answer, dammit, lol!!!
Thanks so much for your time, I really need help on this one.

Welcome to the forum, Missspoke!

100% VG will gunk up cartos quicker than e-liquids with a higher PG content. Dark liquids will also have a detrimental effect. In my experience, all juices are not created equal and results can vary wildly. Some liquids with a high VG content, for example, are much thicker than other. I have two juices from ePipeMods in my rotation at the moment - they're pretty thin for 95% VG and I can get about a week (or 14ml of juice) out of my cartos before the draw tightens up. On the other hand, I've used a couple of 100% PG juices in the past which have destroyed cartos in less than 24 hours. It's trial and error as to which liquids work well, I'm afraid. Just try to avoid really dark, thick liquids with a high VG content if at all possible.

CookingWithGuns is right, though - Halo is not 100% PG. It's a proprietary blend and varies between flavors. I would say most Halo juices are somewhere in the region of 60-70% PG - so you're already using a PG/VG blend!

myvaporstore and other vendors the kr808d1 connection cartos i am pretty sure, and like cooking said any juice will work. Though I have heard that high vg blends can clog up your carto faster then other blends. I never really like the halo liquids or any prefills, I had a g6 a couple years ago.. I think i use to get a couple weeks out of each carto, there is many variables that go into how long they last though, but I did get away with cleaning them out a couple times usually as well to have them last a bit longer, they are not terribly expensive really to just throw away. You could also try the g6 mini tanks......... maybe

Thanks, ohmy! So, correct me if I'm wrong, but the kr808d1 cartos will fit my G6? That would be awesome to have more than one supplier for those. :D I'll also try cleaning them out and decide if it's worth the time...probably, lol!

Yeah, but Halo's cartos are the longest lasting 808 cartos I've seen. Easy to fill too. Heard good things about the volt cartos, but for my money I'd go with the Halo LR cartos.

Missspoke,

Are you sure you are filling the cartos correctly? Is the filler in the carto fully saturated? While I am not familiar with these particular cartos, in general a standard size carto should take around 30-plus drops of liquid, and a XL carto should take 40-plus drops to fill properly. Number of drops can vary depending on viscosity of the juice, type of tip on juice bottle, and force of the squeeze.
