Is anyone else's Smooth 8 just not the same as it was before the drought? I thought I was vaping on Freedom all day 'till I looked at the bottle. The born on date is 4/16 so it's had plenty of time to 'cure'.

The spice just isn't there like it was. I hate to say it, but it's meh. Not bad, just not what I've come to expect from Smooth 8.

I'm not complaining, I'm just trying to see if anyone else has noticed this.

It's not user error. I've vaped probably 200ml of booth Freedom and Smooth 8, so I know what to expect.

Also, the Freedom I got has a little extra oomph. I like it!

BUMP! Speak up if you're experiencing this! I know I'm not the only one as I've recieved several PMs about this. Let your voice be heard!

I just sent J.Blaze a link to this thread with a little explanation as to what's up. Hopefully we'll hear from him.

I do notice that my older Smooth 8 has a darker color but that could be that the born on date was over 2 months ago so it has had time to age.

The Smooth 8 and Freedom I just received do taste a little similar but I can taste a slight difference between the two. Smooth 8 still has a distinct ginger flavor to it IMO.

Edit: I take it back, they don't taste similar at all. Freedom is sweeter and has a cedar taste to it. Smooth 8 has the ginger flavor, not as sweet and has no cedar taste to it.

Got mine yesterday and plowed into them to see what's good and what's not. To me, all of them taste pretty much the same- an overpowering Bergamot flavor that obscures any other flavoring that might be in there. The Torque 56 tasted a lot like alcohol.

Somewhat of a disappointment, was looking for new flavors and found the same flavor in three different bottles. The TH and vapor is superb. I like earl gray tea, so the Bergamot taste isn't that bad to me.

I have one unopened Torque 56 that I'll probably sell / trade sometime in the near future.

When I first got the Freedom a few months back it tasted exactly like a lighter version of the Smooth-8. After I let it sit a couple days it completely changed to its own distinct flavor and tasted nothing like the Smooth-8 anymore. Obviously everyones tastes are different but just an FYI to let you know that may be the case if you wait a few days to try it again.

------------------------

As to the old and new tasting different I have just a tiny bit of the old Freedom and 1/4 of a bottle of the old Smooth-8 still so I haven't opened any of the new bottles yet myself.

Thyestean...please do let us know what you think. I am very aware that just being exposed to oxygen and then let sit for a few days may make a big difference. Not to mention the power of suggestion. :) I like to think I'm not engaging in that but the truth is ....who knows? Advertising works for exactly that reason....so I am trying to be prudent in my judgement. My new Smooth8 doesn't seem up to par with the old stuff. But again...I will reserve judgement for a couple days after opening the bottles and then letting them sit. I remember when I first tried it...I really thought I didn't like it. I let it sit a few days and then tried it again...now I can't live without it! Thank you for pointing that out.

Either way....I still love the stuff and will continue to use it. Different isn't always worse.:D

Thanks for posting that Thy... I am the same. Didn't know if I liked at first. Torque ended up doing it for me. Then after the Freedom and Smooth 8 had settled for a week or two, I tried them again and they got me more than the Torque. I have 3 order lots of Freedom. My second late had a born on date end of Feb and matched my Dec/Jan flavors. Haven't broken open the new bottles but will let all know.

What I do like with Halo juices is that they really do age well. Have been way disappointed with some other vendors (even ones I like) when I get a juice that I don't like. The bad ones never change... too perfumey or don't taste like what they are meant too. But Halo's, if it's not there yet... a little air and time (opposite of wine) will bring out the bouquet. So far I haven't had a Halo bottle let me down. And it's a good thing too... Because after the sale my Halo stash site at 420ml...

I'm ready for Armaggedon.

Okay, this is really weird. I read about this with Harley months ago and heard that you had to let it settle for a few days. People were initially finding it a strange taste. I had no trouble with Freedom back then. Loved it from the first try. I couldn't believe it when I recently tried Torque and found it so strong. I vape it today and all day. The flavor settled down and I'm loving this stuff. I still can't get over how big a change in my opinion and taste buds with just a day or two. This is a chameleon liquid this is, but what a good little chameleon liquid. Had a bit of a bite at first, but can I expect it to stay really good from now on? My current insatiable thirst for it seems to tell me yes.

Now all we need is for someone to start manufacturing a nice made in the USA PV...preferably some type of "juicebox"/auto feeder with no carts or cartos to fry, selectable voltage, a PCC to carry it in and of course...pretty blinky lights. All for under $50. Jay...get on that will you please?

I ordered a bottle of Freedom and Torque 56 during the sale. I have to say your experience is pretty much identical to mine.

To me the flavors are nothing like tobacco at all. The Freedom has a very cedar like smell/taste to it. The Torque is somewhat similar, but less cedar, and more of something else I haven't put my finger on yet. The flavors are extremely strong.

I normally vape at 6 volts on standard 901 atomizers, but the Halo juice was just too much. I've since dropped down to 3.7 volts and it's better at the lower voltage. I think it's growing on me somewhat. I know when I first tried JC Original, which is my daily vape, I wasn't thrilled, it took time for it to grow on me.

Flavor aside, the juice does have very nice vapor and throat hit. Probably a best balance of the two in any juice I've tried. The service, shipping, packaging, and quality are all top notch.

I'm just getting over a cold, so that could be affecting my taste somewhat. I'll keep vaping it and see how it turns out. It may be my new daily vape by next week, you never know.

Well after two weeks with Halo, an empty bottle of Freedom, and a near empty bottle of Torque, I love it. It takes some time to grow on you, and while the flavor is different, the experience is similar to an analog for me. I get what the previous poster said about being like an analog without tasting anything like it. Anyway, just ordered another bottle of Freedom for me and some Cool menthol for my wife.

I've been meaning to dig this thread back up but kept forgetting. I would love to let you know unfortunately I can't get rid of this darn sinus infection and everything I have vaped for about 2 weeks now has been pretty bland. Nothing at all, Halo or others, has tasted the same as they used to so I still can't really comment on it even though I have opened one of the new bottles of Freedom now. I'll still let you know though if this ever goes away.

Has yours changed at all since that posting?

I've read through this thread in it's entirety.
I thought it was remarkable that a few of the more ubiquitius posters were so gung-ho over Halo juice so I thought I'd better try it.
A bottle of Freedom came in today. I'm vaping it as I write.
Somebody remarked that it tastes similar to some Nhaler juices and I have to agree. Very similar. A simple uncomplicated flavor with...as was mentioned, a slight taste of Cedar. Maybe a bit harsher because I got the 18mg formula while the High Octane tobacco flavors were just 10mg. I can for sure notice the difference there.
It's a 30ml bottle so I'll post again after it's "aged" and I've got more experience with it. So far I like it. I like it better now than when I first started writing this post. ;)
The real test is how often I reach for it when I have other favorites to chose from. The Nhaler juice was always great when I was tired of everything else. I always appreciated it's simplicity and huge vapor production.

hey Thyestean,
I think you are right I remember your post and have ran this test with the freedom and harley/torque juices. I still have some of the old stuff left to reference the new batches with. both freedom and harley from the old batch were way different in flavor from the new, so I left them to sit some more and vaped down half the torque and some of the freedom, at first the torque was too sweet (still good tho) and light tasting but is now beginning to resemble the old harley more every day! how odd eh? gets better with age like a good scotch.

Does Halo sell 0mg juices?

I'm interested in the Freedom Juice but I've worked myself down to 2mg carts (completely full/topped off cart = 2mg).

I've been buying V4L juices and have been making 50/50 mixes of 4mg and 0mg to accomplish this.

Is there any way to do the same with the Halo juices?

Thanks in advance!

No, JB doesn't offer 0 nic.

On another note, my Smooth 8 still doesn't taste like the old stuff, before the drought. I wish JB would chime in on this.
