Halo is a favorite vendor of mine and lately ive had time to revisit some of my favorites.

Prime 15 is my #1 Halo juice. It hits the spot on many levels for me. The TH is fantastic and thats the #1 thing I look for in a juice. Then youve got the intense nut blend layed over a distinct tobacco flavor. Something about this flavor just keeps me coming back. i dont think i could ever get enough Prime15. goes great with just about anything.

Tribeca reminds me of Prime. the TH is on par, and the tobacco base appears to be the same or similar. the difference i get is that Tribeca has a sweetness to it. a tinge of the same Prime "nuttiness" perhaps, i cant pinpoint what type of sweetness it is or really much about this flavor in general. its a mysterious juice, but a great flavored tobacco vape imo.

Belgian Cocoa is another favorite of mine. i really enjoy vaping this one with a stout or a porter. the chocolate pairs nicely with these beers. alone, the BC is very enjoyable as well- its like vaping hot cocoa (i like a warmer vape). not overly sweet however. just enough sweetness to enjoy, yet not too much to overpower. its not a whammer on the throat, but its cocoa. it must be hard for cocoa to be anything but smooth.

I'm looking forward to the new flavor, Mystic menthol. and by i, i mean my GF. shes a big menthol fan and absolutely loves Kringles Curse.

and im also looking forward to Midnight Apple, Captain Jack, and Bella Valente. havent tried those yet, but theyre coming up soon :)

Hey Kimosabe, fellow beer geek here as well :toast: I'm a relatively new vaper and have a few Halo's, in fact, I was just taking a toke off some Prime 15 when I opened this thread. I agree, Prime 15's got it, I narrowly like Tribeca a bit better though. Went through a small bottle of it in about 2 days, got the Prime and now it's about gone. I'll have to try the Belgian Cocoa, loves me a good stout at the end of a beer session. Maybe I'll pick up the Belgian Cocoa and some Old Rasputin this weekend. That's a hard stout to beat for the price and availability. It's hard being a beer geek in Oklahoma (non refrigerated law, and a bunch of bs liquor laws from 50 years ago keep a lot of good breweries out my state).

The Belgian cocoa is the most authentic dark cocoa vape I've ever tried.

I don't like tobacco at all, but the tribeca smells nice, not big on the taste of it, prime, torque, Turkish, Tiki, HX3, Bella or freedom.

The captain jacks (to me) tastes like the floor of a tavern after a pipe smokers convention.

Regardless of the subjective taste, halo is quality, high end juice, and I love what they do for the industry.

Have only smelled the Kringle...liquid candycane. Would love to see them tackle some fruit flavors.

Vaping since: a while
Cigarettes avoided: lots
Money saved: probably not
Devices: Yes
(insert crappy graphic and vendor logo here)

how now! :) old rasputian is a mighty fine choice. i did just that a few weeks back. sad to hear about your state laws. thats is quite a shame. if theyve got Left Hand Brewery beers where your at, look for the Milk Stout Nitro. its amazing how they deliver the nitro without a widget. the pour is remarkable as well- you just vertically DUMP the beer into the glass. defies everything ive ever learned abotu pouring a beer! check this out:
Left Hand Brewing's New Nitro Milk Stout Bottles - YouTube
but anyway yeah the belgian is gonna go ahead and be excellent with every stout and porter ive had. save for maybe Fade to Black (pepper porter)
and prime goes exceedingly well with other types of beers i drink. goes great with so many. nut browns are quite notable. same with tribeca. i find it hard to find a brew that doesnt go well with it. except for maybe a lambic lol.

Ha! That video is nuts! When he poured that I was like yea right... Yup we get Left Hand here, Nitro Milk Stout is a great brew. A 12 ounce will definitely fill a 20 ounce with some nice fluffy head. Speaking of Fade to Black, I loved the pepper porter but I do so miss the Vol 2 Smoked Baltic Porter. We do get some decent beers, just none of the one's I really want to try (probably because I can't get them). No Founder's, no Russian River, no Bell's (love Hopslam, scored the last 6 pack in a store in Missouri), but we do get most all the Belgium imports, and we have some decent breweries in the state, most notably Coop (Territorial Reserve Oak Aged Stout is to die for) and Choc.

A local vape shop here carries Halo, so I'm definitely gonna pick up some Belgian Cocoa tomorrow.

nutso indeed. "yeah right" was my exact response too! lol but yeah the nitro milk is legit and its a nice change of pace, but the regular milk stout is still a tad better to me for some reason. me thinks a little tweak to thenitro design is needed. it would however be amazing to get a nitro IPA in a bottle as IPAs are my fave.
OOoooo im jealous...ive never had the Vol 2 smoked baltic porter. i really really dig smoked beers. Souther Tier Stout X2 has some smokey notes. very classy brew. and then theres the Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen...im not even gonna pretend like i remembered the exact name (who would?) but i easily located it..anyway if youve ever had it, you know exactly what i mean. smokey doesnt even begin to describe this brew. this beer is like you ate smokey bacon that was cooked in a campfire. LOL its really good, but 1 bottle is all you need.
dont be too jealous of your limited selection...Russian River distrubets to approximately no one, Bells cant be gotten anywhere near where i live, and we just got founders a few months ago. although, it was available in MA long before RI.

anyway, youre lucky to have a vape store near you, nevermind one that carries Halo. if i had a vape store anywhere near me, id demand halo, and i know i could make it happen due to how awesome halo is about getting distributed.

i'll be on the lookout for Coop! ive never heard of em, but that wont last long, it never does. i have a seek and consume mentality with these types of things :D

party on Wayne :toast:

BTW today is IPA Day! toast a big hop bomb in accordance

Aww man, today was IPA day! Liquor stores are closed now and all we can get here at convenience stores here is Bud and the like, bleh...not to mention they can only come in 3.2% in grocery and gas stations. I'll definitely celebrate IPA day late tomorrow though :2cool:

This is what you were referring to Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen - Brauerei Heller-Trum / Schlenkerla - Bamberg, Germany - BeerAdvocate. That's an awesome reference site btw for brew. Yep, I've heard of it, but never had it, we don't get it here. I'll be sure to check next time I'm in a neighboring state.

Haha, sorry for going so off topic on your thread, but I'll report back tomorrow on what I think of some Halo's liquids I pick up at lunch.

good call. this thread was intended to discuss Halo, but hey things happen. :D i am just as passionate about my beer as i am about my ejuice.

and yep- thats the brew. the stuff is bonkers. if you like smoked beer, youve gotta try it. it blew my barn doors off. and yep, that site is fantastic. im a member there as well with the same screen name (i think, its been a while).

but ANYway, pick up some halo liquid at lunch and post about it here :) :vapor:

Oh man, is that Belgian Cocoa good! Smells like I want to drink it! I was thinking about it today and it tastes exactly like i imagined. In fact, a few times I thought about it, took a vape of something else expecting to cocoa. Got a Mad River Extra Stout and a Sierra Nevada Stout to try with it later after I finish my Piraat and Rochefort 8 :toast: I filled a clearo with it and was only going to take one vape until later when I open my stouts (I like saving my stouts for the end of my beer session), I ended up chain vaping at least 5 pulls on it and didn't want to stop! Man, you weren't joking, that's the best cocoa/chocolaty flavor I've had yet. Ok, going to put it away until the stouts! The only thing else I got was the Tribeca, but I've already talked about that one, it's one of my all day vapes.

The only other Halo I've tried besides the ones above, Prime 15, and Tribeca, are Tiki Juice and Bella Valente. Tiki's ok, my girlfriend says it makes the house smell like a head shop, definitely can't vape it all day but I like it now and then. Bella Valente...well, I think I got a bad bottle or something, because it tasted terrible to me. I couldn't imagine Halo putting something out like that so I chock it up to a bad batch or changing taste buds....I'll try it again as I love vanilla.

Rochefort 10 is my favorite Trappist beer available in the US. It's got more depth and complexity than 8 and 6 and tingles the tip of my tongue. Sorry for the off-topic..

I'm also more of an IPA drinker. I'm curious what your absolute favorites are.. I only just discovered Pliny the Elder last year. and it's the only other IPA, besides Stone's 10th Anniversay IPA that wowed me.

I like Rochefort 10, I like it a lot, but I tend to like tripels like 8 a bit more than 10, just a taste preference. Love the complexity of the quads but only if I'm drinking 1 or 2 beers.

I do drink IPA's quite often, in fact, this time of year more so than in the fall/winter months. We don't really have any standout IPA's in my state, as we mostly get imports here due to the liquor laws. It seems the best IPA's are made here in the USA so we don't get many of them. What we do get such as Sierra Nevada Torpedo is something, but there's not enough variety of different breweries with good IPAs where I live. Anyways, I also really enjoy double/imperial IPA's myself.

Sometimes I think to myself that vaping compared to smoking, is the equivalent to craft beer vs. bud light.

Oh man Kemosabe, this Belgian Cocoa is off the wall with my Sierra Nevada Stout - Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. - Chico, CA - BeerAdvocate what a pairing! You just brought a whole new level of vaping to me...beer and vape pairings. I've been trying to find good beer and vape pairings (I knew they existed), but haven't really found a pair for any of my beers. Now I will ask you the questions that must be...:)

What would you suggest for a good DIPA like Sneaky Pete Imperial IPA - Kysela Pere Et Fils, Ltd. - Winchester, VA - BeerAdvocate?

i cant say too much about the Trappist beers although im not completely alien.
i am however very well versed in IPA land. my absolute favorites are the most over-the-top, biggest hop bombs available. breweries like Russian River, Lagunitas, Green Flash, Stone, Oskar Blues, Dogfish Head, Boulder, Victory, Troegs, Clipper City, have some great bombs.
the key to a great IPA (to me) is maintaining that great floral/piney/citrusey flavor of the hops. beers that have 3+lbs of hops per barrel, dry hopped ipas, fresh hop ipas, and nitro ipas all accomplish this. and above all, the beer must be fresh. im talkin less then 3 months old type of fresh. perferrably, youd want to drink this stuff AT the brewery. often that is not available of course, so finding fresh IPA often becomes a task.

Lagunitas - pretty much everything they brew is spectacular im particularly fond of the imperial red and little sumpin sumpin neither are traditional ipas, but they blow away what most breweries try to pass of as an ipa. Lagunitas' ipas and double ipas are amazing of course. i give the brewery an A+
Legacy - Hoptimus Prime A-
Oskar BLues - Gubna is phenominal A+
Russian River - ive only had Pliny the Elder and its easily an A+ brew.
Dogfish Head - i like the 60 and the 90. if the 120 was fresh, i might have liked it. solid A for a nice fresh 90
Victory - give me a hop devil or hop wallop any day A-
Stone - Runiation IPA. enough said. A
Green Flash - Hop Head, Red Head - A+
Troegs - Nugget Nectar - technically a hopped up amber - easy A+
Clipper City - Loose Cannon - A. this ones a whammer, and very widely available.
Boulder - mojo risin' A+. the hazed and infused is also really really good. A. its not an IPA, but youd swear it was.

Rochefort 10 is my favorite Trappist beer available in the US. It's got more depth and complexity than 8 and 6 and tingles the tip of my tongue. Sorry for the off-topic..

im glad you like the cocoa as much as i do. i devoured a few ml of it in the first few hours i had it.
i need to revisit my tiki because it was very fresh hen i first got it, i think it might be a bit mellower now, plus ive been craving a spice/clove flavor lately.
thats too bad about the bella. thats one i still want to try though. what was bad about it? i like the idea of a vanilla cigar.

exactly correct. USA makes the best IPAs. more specifically, the left coast. colorado gets it done too. but thats not to say the east coast isnt bringing the bombs though. we've got some great IPA breweries too.
Torpedo is a great beer btw. SN is a great brewery. the new Hoptimum is really tasty.
HAHAAH smoking is totally the bud light of drinking!!!

isnt it great?! vape and beer pairings is such a hoot. ive been going nuts with it. if you want to try something cool, get an Ayinger and drink it with a banana vape. its bananas! lol, i know im corny but seriously its great.

IPAs are a bit of a tricky pair. if there were a good hops vape (ive only found one and it was from an overseas vendor...idk, do they have what it takes ??) ive actually considered soaking hops in a PG/VG mix to DIY a nice hop juice. but who knows how thatd turn out. i like prime with just about any beer so that works, but its not perfect. sometimes a citrus vape is really nice with an ipa, depending on just how citrusey that particular ipa was.

I don't really know how to explain it, it just didn't taste right. Almost no vanilla flavor, and a very harsh, stale flavor.

Belgian Cocoa found another winning pair last night :)
Sierra Nevada just released Beer Camp, which is a craft variety pack with 4 brews.
as expected, the Oatmeal Stout is glorious with our buddy, Mr. Belgian Cocoa.

Beer Camp is a sick sampler BTW. 12 bottles total, 4 great craft brews for 19.99. SCORE :D

the other 3 are Imperial Pilsner, Floral IPA, and an Imperial Red. Yowza. Prime went well with all of them. Maybe if Halo develops a citrus juice, that would go well too. ;)
