Hey folks, got my Triton in the mail just around 3 days ago! Been loving this thing. However, randomly one of my batteries started doing something a bit weird. First time charging it, went very well, put it on light was red (on charger) then couple hours later turned blue. I turned the battery on (5 clicks) and went to take myself a vape, however it was very poor performance, nothing like I had experienced with this product yet. So I looked down and took another vape, and I notice the light is extremely dim, probably about 25% normal brightness.

So, here is where things get stupid. If I take the battery off, the light is bright as can be, the second I put ANY of my tanks on, or even mini tanks, or even cartos (all Halo products) the light turns dim. So first reaction, maybe it's low charge, for whatever reason, I slap in on the charger, the charger light is red, but within 5 seconds turned blue again. So I thought maybe is was shorting, I used the edge of paper towels and q-tips and gave it all a good rub down, got in the tight spots, and then I let it sit for 20 minutes, try it again, same issue, dim light.

I never refill the tank with the battery attached. They are brand new so no wash yet, I know there is no water left over in there. I never over tighten. I just don't get it, I followed it to the letter with the how to care for this thing and such. Can someone PLEASE help me figure this out?!

Thanks in advanced for any help provided.

Right-o thanks. :)

Yes, I second that, sounds like a defect that needs replacing. Halo's Triton batteries are top-notch, but no ecig batteries are not without the occasional dud. I think that you performed due diligence in establishing that this was not a matter of condensation, or a tank-related issue.

I am having an issue with one of my batteries. For days now it's been working on one charge.

Last night I did a full charge and it was working great all today but suddenly it loses power way before it should .... I have it in my charger..starts off with the blue blinking light then now ( A few minutes later ) I get a dim blue'ish / red light as it's charging . Should I be concerned or just let it charge as is ?

I've been leaving my battery on all day and only doing 5 clicks at night before bed. Is this a bad method or should I turn it on and off all day ?

Thanks

When the battery dies and you put it on the charger, the charger LED will be solid red. The red light will blink blue slowly, then faster and faster to indicate how close to charged it is. Then, it will be both blue and red, giving a purple color, then that will be followed by a light blue. Finally, it will turn a deep solid blue color indicating it is charged. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes after that and your good to go.

I leave my batteries on all day and all night, it makes no difference, the battery won't fire unless the fire button is pressed.

As to your issue, I don't know, it could be a problem, see what others say.

Thanks. It stopped working then when I put it in the charger it blinked (blue) a few times then red for a few minutes then a blue'ish red then now 15 minutes later all blue. I am vaping it right now.

It only needed a 15 minute charge ? Weird.

Let it charge. A normal charging cycle for a depleted Triton is 2 hours on average.

I have noticed some chargers produce a blinking blue light at a more rapid pace than others. Mine blinks blue once every 2 seconds. As long as the solid red light is on, it's still pulling and storing an electrical charge from the socket. The solid blue light with no red is the green light to go.

You do not have to 5-click it off to charge, it makes no difference. That is more a safety setting if you are having problems with the button accidentally clicking on in your pocket, but I have never had that happen as the button is fairly flush with the unit and does not stick out.

It sounds like you have eliminated most of the other variables, without testing with a volt meter. Do you have another battery you can use that charger with, to see if that is the weak link? No Triton should perform that poorly or in your case not at all, especially brand new.

I would contact Halo. Just know that they will request you ship the defective unit back to them, so you will be out of pocket on the return postage, and have to wait for the replacement.

Let it charge. A normal charging cycle for a depleted Triton is 2 hours on average.

But it turned full blue in 15 minutes and I charged it yesterday for 4 hours full charge. Its working fine now so thats all that matters for the moment :)

Now onto E-Liquid issues since my Turkish Tobacco doesn't taste the same after only 2 weeks of having it. I don't think the bottle cap was on tight though..no worries since I have 3 Halo juices arriving tomorrow.

I have a feeling owning an E-Cig will be an expensive learning curve for the first few months. Otherwise lucky for me I already have a favorite E-Juice LONGHORN so that should cut down on my tasting sprees.

That's just steeping 101. There's a lot of info on that here with a quick search.

There is definitely a learning curve. Once you nail down the hardware, and lock down your preferred "software" (aka ejuice) that's when the cost benefits start adding up, not before. Many people find that it's actually a bit more costly than their analog addiction up until the break even point, and from then on save money... not to mention the health benefits, which are priceless.

CNYC, your tastebuds will continue to change for the first few months some have said even up to a year. So it probably isn't your juice but your tastebuds. When I first started I got the Menthol sampler. I loved Kringle's Curse but Menthol Ice and Mystic was my favorite. Then that changed to Sub-Zero above all. Coolmist was my least liked out of all the samples. Today Coolmist is what I prefer along with Voodoo.

I hope your battery issue is fixed. I was beginning to wonder if your tank was shorting out your battery.

I just think it's a charging/time issue. Once the battery gets up to voltage, the last part of the charging is all about the capacity, and is the most important. As Penguins said, wait for a solid blue light on the charger, and then give it a bit more time, it won't hurt and could only help.

If you vape one flavor, it will taste muted over time. That's why we suggest rotating a few flavors in the day; it keeps them fresh.

And as Evie says, it's prolly more your taste buds than a change in the juice. Secondary is the wicks/coils getting buildup. A good cleaning restores most wicks/coils.

Vape on!!

Thank You for the response. How can a tank short out my battery ? I have been tilting the E-Cig backwards ( i.e.. drinking from a glass) because I saw on a youtube video saying it helps make sure the wick is fully soaked...especially when your tank is low. Although I've noticed that when I do that with a full tank the first few vapes don't pull well. At this phase it works better with my battery facing the floor. Maybe tilting back with a full tank will flood something ?

Thanks Again for the response. This forum is extremely generous with aiding newbies. I appreciate the warm welcome.
