Hi all. Joined here in 2009 and ....I'm back. Gotta get off the analogs- they're killing me. Last night I purchased a Halo Triton Starter Kit and some Halo Tobacco sampler. Also bought at sandsmods some Grumpy's Hooch and their juice sampler pack. My aim is to immediately decrease from a pack plus a day to maybe 3 cigs plus vaping. To get off to a good start can anyone offer specific Triton tips to get going? I had some cheap ... chinese ecig in 99 that was lame. I WANT to like vaping. All the e-juice I bought was 24 mg. Should I buy spare parts right away? I've heard about many types of tanks and the idea of a glass tank appeals to me from a toxicity/melting plastic kinda way. Will my Triton fit other tanks? Thanks in advance.

I haven't gotten my Triton yet, but have heard great things about their VV battery. Maybe think about picking one of those up. On another thread (the 808 stealth thread) one guy was talking about how his tanks last a long time, which seems to back up what I heard about their reliability. Also if you want, you can use the G6 cartos on it, also just about anything from Smokeless Image should fit if they have glass tanks (don't think they do though).

I started off trying a few different brands, and all were sent back, but Halo.
Their e-liquids are something special. If you smoked non-menthol chances are torque56 is going to rock your world (followed by prime15). But give other flavors a try too. At first I didn't like them that much, but after they sat for couple of days, and I tried them again, the flavor was very different from my first impressions. I hated tribeca at first, but now can't get enough of it. Also, give a try to their gourmet flavors. Amazing, and yummy.

The battery does offer an impressive performance. Also, as CookingWithGuns mentioned, try their tanks. Truly brings out the best of flavor, although their cartidges are pretty good, and last VERY long. I've sampled a few different ones (not going to name names), but for someone who dumped cigarettes one minute and was on to e-Cig the other, Halo's stuff worked the best for my needs.

Had mine for a little over a month now. Love it. I think it is the best delivery system on the market. The day I got it, I ordered more tanks, extra batteries, more sample packs and extra coils. I quit smoking 5 days later. A pair of 650 mAh batteries should last you all day. I bought the extras as backups and backups to the backups- not like I can go to a store to get more, if in a pinch. I also ordered an extra USB charger. I now have 40 tanks, a vast amount of e-juice, 2 650mAh batteries, 2 900, 2 1300, a pair of the new VV and a pair of VV on the way. I'm probably set for over a year, but as I said, backups and backups for the backups. I haven't had a tank go bad, but replace the coil heads usually once a week, whether they need it or not.
A Pyrex tank would probably require 2 or 3 adapters to use on the Triton batteries and they are known to leak, as I have only seen bottom feeders in glass, which are also a pain to fill. The polycarbonate tanks could never get hot enough with the Triton batteries to melt or even give off any fumes. As far as BPA leaching- studies are inconclusive as to how BPA affects adults. If you drink out of plastic water bottles, you are ingesting trace amounts of BPA. If someone made a top feeder Pyrex tank that would work with a Triton battery, I'd probably try some out. Either way, it is safer than smoking cigarettes, which I know would kill me eventually.

wow. thanks for all the responses. between checking for a response I went back to halo and bought a 5 pack of coils, a 1300 mah battery, a g6 mini-tank and 30 ml of Tribeca---god knows why, I hope I like it. :) I figured the 1300 mah battery would be good for a full day of hardcore I-Want-A-Marlboro vaping.
So when I get the thing, just fill and vape-- after topping off the battery? Do I rinse out the tank or do anything else? Lastly, taste is a very subjective thing, but what halo flavor is most like Marlboro, or do I want to avoid that if I'm trying to quit analogs?

The battery should come charged, or mostly charged when it arrives. Fill a tank, let it sit 5-10 min., they you are good. Make sure the coil head is tight before filling. You can unscrew the coil head, wash the tank and coil head and re-use. I let them air dry on a paper towel overnight.
I like all of Halo's tobaccos, but none really taste like a cigarette, which is probably a good thing. I have found I really like the flavors that don't remind me of a cigarette- like SubZero, Shamrock, Malibu and Belgian Cocoa. On the 5th day of my Triton arriving, I tried to smoke a cigarette, was disgusted, and vaped some Hx3.

Judging by their facebook page, on major holidays they run liquid sales, so wait 2 more weeks to stock up :)
I got a single 1300mAh battery for home use, and it lasts me 2 or more days easy. I was smoking Davidoff regular 1-1.5 packs a day, and find that their 12ml e-liquid is great. I did try to smoke a regular cigarette after a few days of using halo stuff, and it just tasted nasty to me. At first I was really into all the tobacco flavors, but after about a week was surprised that I was going for the gourmet flavors. When first switching, all the flavors seemed silly to me and I had no interest, but it's amazing how quickly the taste changes. So having said that, try samples first, 30ml bottle will last a while, and you'll be amazed how much variety you'll crave. It's all part of the fun, so just go with it.

Anyway, I guess my experience was the same as Stevegmu's :) -- although I'm not into menthol flavors at all (just don't have any attraction to mint, even avoid it in toothpaste).

Here's a video on how to clean up halo tanks. They last easy 2-3 weeks for me, and very much worthwhile investment (although I do prefer to use cartomizers with G6 in public)

I thought they didn't send their batteries charged. Regardless, the 8hr initial charge they say to do is NOT needed. Only needs about 2-3hrs to get that first charge.

Had my Halo's for a few days and love em -- worst thing about them is guarding them with my life -- Fiancee took a hit off mine and was sold. I too have a 1300MaH batt coming tomorrow and extra coils JIC but a starter kit has been ordered for her. Batteries both worked fine right away and they charge in bout an hour from dead (on the wall outlet adapter -- never tried in my pc as usb's are full). I think the rule of 15 minutes may be a carto thing as as soon as my wicks were wet she produced muchos vape (so about 10 seconds)

I love the Triton batts, they charge fast and are so much shorter than other ego batts. The Triton tanks (clearos) can be fiddly at times, they work best full to 2/3 full. I keep mine full. Sometimes you have to wipe out the top mouth piece and wipe off the top of plastic wick assembly and always be sure to check that the head is screwed in, not tight, just a bit snug. Mine loosens up every time I take off mouth piece. I suggest getting some Halo G6 cartos to use also, less fiddly and work great on the Triton batts as well. I use them all the time for out and about. Have fun! bnrk

If you're looking for an analog type flavor, you'll like Torque 56 or Freedom Juice.

Since you haven't vaped anything in a while, I would suggest getting a few disposables before your Triton gets to you, so you can become used to the sensation, which is different than tobacco smoke. You'll cough and choke at first, like you did when you first started smoking. Just push through it, like you did when you started smoking. The Triton tank is so close to smoking with the amount and quality of the vapor, the warmth. Just give yourself time to get use to it, and know that there isn't a real cigarette, Marlboro flavor. But the Halo tobaccos aren't bad ;)

Torque 56, Turkish, and Freedom Juice are my favorites.

Love my Triton! Bought a kit 2 weeks ago and had to order a second one for my husband. My husband smokes the tobacco flavors and he likes the Torque 56. As for me I am still looking for a great flavor. I have been vaping V2 menthol and have not found anything to replace it yet. Was not fond of the halo menthol flavors. I quit smoking analogs the first day I got my E-cig from V2 3 months ago. Do not miss the smelly things one bit.

What!? No mention of Voodoo?! Who are you and what have you done to the real jef?! :p

Those are good flavours, though. I would add Prime 15 to the list, as well. It's a good, smooth tobacco flavor. Prime 15 might be a bit too mild for some, but it's just so smooth.
