Hello everyone!

Long time reader, first time poster (sic). I own a halo triton tank (both a starter kit and variable voltage battery), and I have to say I am extremely satisfied. I used to smoke hand-rolled cigarettes and I thought nothing could ever come close to the rich taste and throat hit offered by them - I was mistaken,

To my question; I have found the the best combination for me. It's the 3-3.2 Ohm resistance and ~4.4 volts, that produces a rich, flavor-full vape with a strong throat hit. However, I find that sometimes after I clean the tank and wicks and reinstate them in the tank (after waiting a good 1/2 days for the to be completely dry), the vapor is significantly less, as if the cigarette is "clogged", as if something is blocking the airway. I suspect that the way I place the wicks on the resistance is to blame.

Therefore, I would like to ask the fellow, more experienced vapers on how to place the wicks as to avoid this problem. Should the silicon band squeeze them gently or hard? Should the wicks be hard pressed against the resistance? Should I one wick through the resistance (I have seen some of the coils I bought come with one wick inside the resistance but it seems nigh impossible to do it myself)?

Any other tips as to avoid this problem?

Thanks in advance!

When you clean the wicks, don't pull them out completely. Yes, one wick must reside inside the coil and the other one on top. This is why you're not getting much vapor, both wicks are on top of the coil. I got my parents the Triton tank kit and they made the same mistake by pulling both of the wicks out completely. The end result was no vapor and had to replace the coil head. I'm not sure if these wicks can be rebuilt, meaning you rebuild your own coil with kenthal wire and silica wick. I've never tried it.

If you attempt to place one of the wicks inside the coil, be careful you may cause a short if part of the coil is touching the metal posts.

Halo does sell replacement wicks on their site.

I was expecting that - it looks like the heating coil (the resistance spiral itself) is just to narrow for me to pass a wick through.

At least, my issue is solved - thanks!

Yes, you just rinsing them out under running warm/hot water and let them dry out. After refilling a tank and letting the wicks absorb the liquid, you still need to "break in" the freshly cleaned coils. They will vape lightly at first, but after about 1/4 of a tank they'll be back to normal.

These are just things you learn as you go along.

Also, it's not possible to dry burn the Triton/T2 coils, since they are too deep inside the tank, and your tanks and wicks will taste like smoke afterwards (unless you like smokey flavor). Also, the T2 style tanks (which the Triton tanks are), they are not rebuildable. But any T2 coils can be used. Just FYI.
