Haha, I've been sucked into that belief, too. I didn't believe the cables made any difference, but I would swear my system sounds better since I bought a pair of Kimber Kables for my KEF LS50s a few months ago.

I suppose I'm sounding like some sort of audiophile, trying to explain why one set of speaker cables makes his stereo sound better than another, but its true. ;-)

I have 2 very high end systems. at that level cables do add about 1% better sound. if you are going to go all the way might as well. for a mid-fi system I can't really hear it. usually. dc-dc to pwm is not a like comparison. it is an entirely different technology. a more fair comparison would be like sony to McIntosh. well I am using much higher power too. so that factors in. nonetheless I do not feel it is a subtle comparison like cables.

granted, the evics display and computer connectivity makes it stand on it's own. that is why I like it too. it has a fatal flaw though. eventually juice can leak down into the head and kill it. if you do not keep it clean. that cannot really happen to the hana. since the 510 is somewhat sealed and the dna board is not that close to it. I am hard pressed to get another evic after I have the hana and like 15 real mech mods already. I do think the hana tastes much better than any Chinese electronic mod. you can just get a mophie and use the hana all day. it is kind of a pain though. I either use mine at home or on a large tractor. large farm implements have 110v and 12v power so it is great for me. i realize most people do not ride tractors all day but many do drive cars long distances where they can charge it. still the battery life is it's major downfall for me. without being plugged in it lasts me 45 minutes! that does not really matter because meanwhile i have filled the tank 4 times and burnt out my coil lol.

oh I did not realize what the ls50 was. those are really good speakers. my brother had them but he got broken in to. we compared them to some $5k speakers and they were better. specifically the Kimber sound is good on those. sorry for ot.

Yep. In either 2012 or 2013 they were voted the best speaker, regardless of price. They beat out speakers that cost 5 to 10 times as much. I paid, I think, $1,599. Been very happy with them. Like you, sorry about being OT. :)

The best rig I ever had was a pair of Martin Logan Sequels, driven by a pair of Carver Silver7t monoblocks through Nordost Red Dawn cables. Now those Nordosts were some ASTOUNGINGLY transparent and revealing cables... ;-)

Man, I love Martin Logans. If I ever get bored with the KEFs, Martin Logan is next on my list.

Never tried Nordost Red Dawn. Damn, gotta go look those up.

Evolv has you (us) covered. The DNA 30 is actually water proof (resistant is probably a better word) so if you some how manage to get e liquid on it it will not short it.

Hana, HoH, Mark Bugs, ect always get so much love and attention (rightfully so) but every one always forgets who makes all those devices possible. Not saying you are I just mean everyone in general. The DNA 30 is the best chip (performance and interface) I have ever used by far. Thanks Evolv!

well at my age I know a pharmacist pretty well lol. he vapes and it was his idea. I am figuring he would know. he might not and be harming us both. they usually know about chemistry even if they are not chemists. I can't ask the guy I know who is a chemist because he wants to sell his ejuice. I really have no idea. good point.

on the other hand I am not sure $5 for 30ml juice at the filling station is okay either? I certainly enjoy $25+ juice but the way I vape I can only use that sparingly.

yeah dna 30/20 is incredible. anyone can take that tiny device and it is basically the whole package ready to go. the fact that the board is only $50 is more amazing. it could be $200 making the mods much more. thankfully it is not.

I have often thought the same thing. $50 is cheap for the DNA 30 chip IMO, but obviously i'm super glad it isn't.

okay protocol, you scared me. anyways I already had an agenda today. a group here that helps people stop smoking had a lottery for a gallon of high end juice. three months go by and no one wins including me. I stopped in right when they were closing and I said I would give a $500 donation if I can have that. they said absolutely! well that should last a bit. before you guys are like whoa 500 bucks? at $25 an ounce that is a $3,200 value! the tickets were free so we both benefitted.

The way you vape, that should last you the rest of the week!

well, you got me there lol.

I just wish there was a way to make this last on it's own. there is a battery guru I have dealt with for large power supplies. I am going to bring it to him and see if he can fit anything in there. the beautiful thing is hana does not even mind. heck it does not even matter really. a vtc5 lasts me like 2 hours. there is no way a 25,000mah is fitting in there haha. you know I have an idea! maybe I could come out with a truck battery mod!

sorry, I wasn't trying to scare you.

I just think flavors are flavors when it comes to vaping (with a few exceptions--ie, known issues like diacetyl etc.).

just because something is safe for kids to ingest ("pediatric compounding flavors") doesn't make it any more safe to vape, compared to other flavorings.

I'm not saying it's unsafe, I'm just saying it isn't safer.

remember, we're vaping flavors that were designed to be ingested. you might as well go with something that tastes good, as opposed to childrens' medicine flavors.

tl:dr imo you're overthinking the "flavor issue." if you're concerned there are plenty of fora with people knowledgable on this subject (DIY liquid sub-forum, Facebook groups, etc).

i actually meant the safe for kids statement as a joke. you brought up a valid point though. good juice tastes 100x better anyways. the problem will be procuring a deal like that again. i guess i can call some juice houses and see if they will make a deal for very large quantities.

moderation is something i know nothing about.

Okay, I don't want to hear any more! If/when your Hana Mod blows up the tractor, I don't want any police contacting me to ask what I know about it, and why didn't I do something to stop it! :p
