Whatever became of them??

I was rocking a Hana dna 40 clone for awhile and happy as could be with the intention of buying an authentic. About that time I joined this board and suddenly squirrels where everywhere and I was off to the races.

Last nite I was reliving old times with the cHana and it dawned of me I haven't seen mention of HM in a long time. So I looked them up and they seem to still be selling but research shows they can be hard to get ahold of.

For use under 40w without TC IMHO the dna 40 is still the best chip I've had and I've had most of them. Actually all of them.

A dna 40 box for 20 bucks?? Made in USA?? 50 bucks for there classic aluminum case?? 70 for a dual 18650??

Why don't we see more buzz about Hana??

I like the aluminum ones but the One is 20 bucks and has a DNA40 chip.

You might want to double check that. There's no mention of the chip in the description that I saw, and that's the kind of feature a seller isn't going to leave out. It might still be a great mod for $29 though, not suggesting it isn't.

High prices kept me away but they are pretty reasonable now.

About a year ago I got a VT40 and my DNA40 fix.

Kinda tempted to get a 50 dollar Hana but they don't day what version of the chip they use.

Too little, too late.

Had they sold their mods at a reasonable price from day one they would still be around.

The made it easy for cloners to knock them off at a fraction of the price.

Like most modders they were victims of their own business model.

Longevity in the market is the key to a running a successful business, not fast profits.

They should have taken the money spent chasing cloners and Copyright infringements and hired someone with experience to run their business.

So I know I'm a little late here, but a DNA 40 for 15 bucks? Is this the original 40? I've seen some other new DNA 40s, are these all the old baord or has it been updated?
I will let you know when I get mine. It is being sent priority mail to my FPO address, so I will have it in about a week. According to the reviews, it appears to be the new board. The only con so far is the cheap plastic used to make the mod casing and battery trays. For $15.99 with the single 18650 option, I won't feel bad if it turns out to be crap. I will strip the board and make my own box mod :)

I think one of the 3 I got was an old board as I couldn't lock the ohms or something like that on one of them but all 3 perform great as a pocket/traveler mod with the sub ohm tanks I run at 0.5 ohms in the 25 - 35 watt range.

There you go. I didn't spot that one. Certainly a reasonable price, cheaper than the chip itself. Granted it's retail, but the Evolv site shows a DNA 40 with screen for $60.
I just checked obe of my hana ones. Holding the down button gives the genuine code and serial number. They are real dna40s. I use Ti at 330 f (correcting for Ni vs Ti).
