Why? What does the preproduction model have that the production model doesn't?
The PP has an indented face while the production doesn't.

this is great. always love hana. bigger button is so welcome too. I just can't stand how long the battery lasts and than waiting for charge. I just really need another. yes, it is equal to a vtc5 but that lasts me 15 minutes! not kidding I vape that way. I was just wondering if the mini usb port is fragile like most are. I have broken countless ones across multiple types of devices. nothing to do with hana. although people scoffed at their cs but I have only good things to say. perhaps because they know I can show up there unannounced any time. big thing though are these really made in china now? they insisted still in Illinois but I don't know. either way it is good. I just wish people would be transparent about the china issue. really it is no shame anymore. not sure where they are made but companies need to make a profit at any means necessary. that is the bottom line. I don't mind either way. the thing is fine. in fact obviously an upgrade to previous hana devices.

When are the production models coming out?? Hana told me a week ago they'd be out this week. Anyone heard anything??

Hm, haven't heard anything, but notice they have restocked black, red, and green as well as the blue that was available. They are all labelled pre-production this time, so I'm thinking the production mosels are still a way off.

I noticed that as well. I love my preproduction model but I'm not going to lie; I'm not spending another $200 for "spinning" buttons.

I went back and forth with Hana's CS for 4 days trying to get them to send me a new display. I opened a ticket with Evolv and they agreed to send me a display in less than an hour. I won't be buying another Hana product again.
I have to agree with you about Hana. I have been going back & forth with them for 4 weeks on my V200 that just turns off when Escribe firmware updates are initiated and therefore won't do any updates & Vapes Twisted 28G ni200 coils in Kanthal mode. They still have not sent me an RMA authorization. They seem more interested explaining there is a 10% restocking fee, shipping of RMAed units back to them is at customers expense, and in denying being able to find the first complaint ticket submitted about the JST RCY connector as it would allow me to seek a refund because it was in fact submitted to their system within 7 days of purchase/delivery than they are in actually standing behind their malfunctioning and mis-manufactured products.

It is truly sad when you get better after purchase Technical/Warranty Support from Chinese Clone Manufacturers and Suppliers than you may expect from one of most recognizable Mod Manufacturers in the world. It is irresponsible behavior like this from major mod suppliers that will give the anti-vaping extremists the ammunition they need to convince lawmakers to pass laws controlling vaping equipment availability throughout the world. Hana needs to realize that continuing to try to screw their customers on warranty support after purchase is the very behavior that may eventually force them to be regulated right out of business. It is sad that their behavior will eventually limit vaping equipment availability to the community and they are urged to wake up and correct this irresponsible business model immediately.

A help ticket to Evolv regarding the issues with the Hana V200 today took Branden himself an hour & a half to respond and agree to "hot swap" or ship a replacement board as soon as I notified him of the tracking number of the shipment to Evolv of the old board removed from the v200 to him. Glad to see that the reports I have heard about Evolv's excellent support are true and at least one of the Major American Suppliers of high end vaping equipment takes their customer service responsibilities seriously.

This will be my first and only purchase of a Hana product in my lifetime and a lesson learned!

Hana's CS leaves a LOT to be desired. They're overpriced and nickel and dime you with what little support they give (10% restocking fees, customer pays shipping, charging shipping when others don't, etc). They don't need regulation to force them out of business. They're doing that on their own with crap service and policies. All mod makers have issues in one way or another, it's how they handle it that makes a company great. I've always had great service from VaporShark which is why I continue to buy their products. The v200 is the last product I will buy from Hana.

I don't know about now but Evolv offered on their forums to trade defective mods with their reference mods. They didn't think it was fair for their consumers to pay $200 for a mod only to have it returned for service and be w/o a mod for long perionds of time. This is one of many reasons I will only buy mods with Evolv chips. I only had an issue with my display ribbon that was pinched on my Hana and I fixed it easily. Had it been more involved, I would've traded for the reference mod (still want one!). You might ask about that.

I've got a DNA200 still in box from R7 because Shapeways lost the buttons from my order and still have not sent the reprint. Told Branden that I would just install that next week when I get a chance & ship him the defective one. He is telling me to solder a ground to the Hana 510 (I really have had what appears to be solid resistance compare to other mods but who knows, maybe that would account for the ni200 vaping in kanthal). Have to try to pull the 510 & clean up the threads while I'm at the swapout.

Obviously a problem with the Hana Board as it will not light and update firmware off the usb alone with battery disconnected. Strange because it is communicating with battery connected & charges just fine. It will hard & soft boot in escribe but just shuts down on firmware updates so somewhere in the update script it must enter a state where usb power alone must power the DNA200 through the firmware update.

After I swap it out & contact Branden again I intend to ask him if I can order a Beta Kit even though the are not available on the website & see what they would cost if he would consider it.

Tpat,

On my Hana V200 the screws that hold the board down were loose and i was getting erratic readings. After I tightened them down every thing started working. But after about 15 minute mine went belly-up. Anyway I think that Hana counts of those three little screws to pick up the ground which is probably why Brandon is telling you to solder the ground to the the 510. :2c:

Thank God John (Evolv) swapped mine out after it had it's major breakdown.
