I just received a hannya rda for Christmas. I put a build in it and all of my mods read that it has a short, i have tried all that i can think of, i was hoping to see if anyone had the same problem or could offer a potential solution. Thanks.
Post some pictures of your build. Could be you haven't got enough clearance between your coils and the barrel of the atty.

I haven't even gotten to the point of putting the top cap on actually, the second i tried to fire the coils to make them even it would not fire. I made a single coil build in it at one time and it worked but now it says that it is shorting even when i have no coils in it. I have also made sure that it is not touching the base of the rda, it was the first thing i checked when trying to troubleshoot.

Pull your wick to be sure only the coils' legs touch the atty,& then check everywhere for loose snip of wire, industrial filings etc. Check underneath that the positive pin sticks out beyond the threaded negative sleeve, & that the insulator is reliable. I'm sure it's a simple solution for an simply unobserved problem.

Thanks everyone for all of your help, one coil seemed to start working so i switched it onto my hex ohm v3 (clone), and after putting a second coil in it shorted and broke my mod. It seems to be working completely now though..................
Working with two coils or just the one? Are you trimming the leads properly so they're not connecting/touching each other?

In the holes that the grub screws go in, where you tighten them with a hex key.
There must be some snapped off wire in there or something. Did you remove the grub nuts before washing? I would strip it down as much as possible. Airflow control, outer barrel, grub nuts, everything as much as possible. Clean it all thoroughly, check for bad machining and tidy it up if there is any. Put some pictures up from different angles so we can have a better look, may be there is something you're overlooking.
