Happiness is about a week away...

Deep into my logically illogical brain again

Yay...got news that my setup has been mailed (as of tomorrow actually). Funny thing though is that my juices and extra addys are going to probably get here before me (considering that mtbakervaper is, IIRC, in my state and/or at least within 100 mile radius of me, LOL)

Dangit, now I want it here so I can make the transition off of analogs completely!

Our cartons that I get cost $47 ($4.70/per pack) and I smoke about 25 cigs/day (on heavy days, but a good basis). So per week, I smoke 25 * 7 = 175 analogs. Per month, 700 analogs, or roughly 35 packs, or narrowed down to 3 1/2 cartons a month.

$47 * 4 = $188/month * 2 (because there are TWO people transitioning off analogs) = $376/month!!!

Now, I have to admit since I've gotten the blu's to transition to vaping completely, I smoke less than that now (about 10-15/day), SOMETIMES more if it's a really bad day, but I do also have a couple of disposables laying around in my normal 'smoking' spots (bathroom being one of them) so I can learn to NOT take the cigarettes with me. So far a disposable has lasted me about a week. LOL

So with vaping, and yes, I know starting vaping CAN be costly at first, about what do you think my average savings, per month, would be considering replacements of attys and juices and the like?

EDIT: Note, please don't hit me with the health saving things, that's already priority in the case and get it. LOL

It's difficult to say. It will be expensive in the beginning, because you'll be trying different things to figure out what you like. I buy my regular supplies: attys, cartos and juice, in bulk, so one month can be more than the next, but I think it works out on average to be about $40.00 a month.

It can cost a lot until you find what really satisfies you (I.e. batteries, juice delivery, and juice flavor) but once you figure those out you're golden.

I'm at the point now with rebuildables and DIY juice that its very cheap, maybe $15-$30 a month, but that's if I don't find new shiny toys to buy.

That's not bad. Better than the money I'm shelling out now by a long shot. LOL

There are a ton of apps out there that track your analogs not smoked and money saved. I personally use cessation nation for Android platforms, not available on iOS. There are a bunch for the iPhone, though.

As of right now I haven't had a cigarette in 8 days 13 hours 49 minutes. I've saved $68.39, and avoided 248 analogs.

I made a deal with my wife - I get to spend half of what I save on vape stuff :)

Reading between the lines of your post, my guess is that you won't save much the first six months, but you will have a heck of a nice collection. If vaping becomes a hobby, and there is no better hobby, imho, then it's easy to justify the vaping costs against the smoking cost savings. Now, if it doesn't become a hobby, and you stay off of ECF, then a 50% savings is possible, even easy, after the initial start up costs. Given the detail of your post, though, I think you're a hobby person. I'm going to go with an 8 month breakeven and a thousand posts about how great this all is. Pure speculation, of course. Good luck, best to you!

My first month, I spent exactly $75. My initial setup and charger, that I took extra good care of because I knew if I broke it/lost something, I'd have to spend more money because I didn't have a backup. Bought one 30ml bottle of juice at the correct nicotine level. Quit analongs right away and haven't looked back - so with smokes being $7 a pack here in MN, I "saved" about roughly the same amount I invested including juice month 1. (see my banner below).

Month two is just beginning, but I already invested in another battery, another tank (I now have an evod, a Protank II, and a handfull of replacement coils) and of course, another bottle of juice. I spent another $80. So, I'm still at a wash as far as cost/smoking.

As long as I don't break/lose anything, I really have enough gear now to last me for several months. It's up to me if I want to pick up another tank, battery, look into a mod... etc. If I can keep myself in control I really should only have to buy juice... and that is where you save the money. If you find a few flavors you like right off and stick to them, you can get by with maybe $15-$20 in expense.

It's really up to you. I didn't need a Protank II, but I decided what the heck. I could have just gotten a few more evods for the same $$$. If you're just as interested in saving money as you are in quitting tobacco, I'd say get two solid, inexpensive setups and focus on dialing in your juice preference - one or two "go-to's" that you can switch between and be happy without a box full of flavors.

Marcus.....
MBV is in Bellingham, I believe.....
From what I'm told....it'll be worth the wait!!! They put out some really FINE e-juices!!

I noticed that my order shipping out from Bellingham, WA, so yeah, it'll be interesting! :) I might have to try them in a carto first on my blu's, unless they need steeping, but that'll be fine. :) I've heard a lot of good things about MBV, so it's just a wait and see as to if they are for me or not. I hope they are because I do like buying at least local/regional if I can help it.

I have an app on my android tablet (can't remember what it is right off the bat) that once I start full-time vaping, will keep track.

LOL...I dunno if it'll be a hobby (it might become one!), but as for staying off of ECF, something tells me that's not going to happen! To many nice people here and if I get lost about something, I know that they are willing to help. Let's face it, I have my  moments, often, but once I understand things in a better capacity, I'm sure I'll be like everyone else and willing to help.

Just don't think that doing rebuilds at this time will be my thing, but one never knows!
