Happy Thanksgiving from the V4L Family!

Just wanted to wish everyone here a Happy (and safe) Thanksgiving! I hope you all have time to relax with family and friends and really enjoy this special holiday.

What are you all doing for the holiday? Vanessa's family has been nice enough to accept into their family for the last 3 years so I'll be with them. It'll be nice to actually not be nervous for once around everyone .

HI Bham!!! I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!!

This year Thanksgiving will be small. Just hubby and I and our 17 yo son.
For this I am thankful!!!
One year I did thanksgiving for hubby's entire park staff and all the volunteers. 30-40 people! (plus my sister and her family)
That took a week of cooking! You name it and I cooked it! Turkey, Ham, standing rib roast, countless appetizers, sides and desserts.

This year is simple Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry/orange relish, rolls, stuffed mushrooms, cranberry bread and cheesecake.
I have the cranberry bread and relish already done. The cheescake is in the oven as I type and I will probably put together the stuffed mushrooms so they are ready to just pop in the oven tomorrow.
I may do a celery and dip tray also. (just to keep hubby and son out of my kitchen while I am cooking)

Wife and I literally just got home from her bday vacation. We're going over to my parents tonight for a bit around 8-9pm orr so. Right now we're just unpacking and getting everything back in order at the house.

Today I passed the torch to my daughter, she made a thanksgiving dinner for all of us and her husbands family too. Everyone brought something to help out and it was fabulous! It was odd being a guest for once but a nice change. She even kicked me out of the kichen when it was time to clean up! She bought an electric turkey roaster and her hubby got the timer wrong..the turkey was burnt! But she was lucky enough to get another fresh turkey this morning and all was well. Glad I made the stuffing at my house..or it would have gone up in smoke too!

She called me at 7am in tears..I told her to go look for another one (not frozen) or a few breasts and thighs. She was surprised to find a fresh turkey! I told her it would all work out and it did! Win for Mom!
