So i'm doing a little diying, and trying to go nicotineless, i tried some happy vaper flavourless pg and vg, but I'm getting a funny after taste, anyone else seem to get the same thing? Is there a better source for some flavourless bases.

ps: Evapers liquids seem a lot thicker in comparison, but happy vaper offers bulk discounts, 7 bucks for 120 ml's, thanks

Hmmm...that's weird, gnelkos.

I've used plain PG & plain VG from Happy Vaper...and plain VG from Evapers. Never noticed any differences. Though I did notice that the plain VG squeeze-bottle from Evapers is really, really hard to squeeze from at first. So I took a new blunt-tip syringe & forced it through the hole...drew out 3mL & refilled my usual little 3mL squeeze bottle for plain VG.

After doing that, I found squeezing & dripping from the big bottle was a breeze. I don't know if it was the syringe making the hole slightly larger...or if it was the pressure release (like compared to when the bottle was totally full). But yeah, works like a charm now.

And come to think of it...it's so negligible, it's not really worth mentioning. But the VG from Evapers does seem to be the tiniest smidgen less thick than Jack's. Though I have the distinct impression I may be imagining things. I wouldn't base any decisions on it. I didn't even notice this alleged difference until after I widened the hole a tad, as described above. Jack & Rob are both good guys; VG is VG is VG. The main reason I get my plain VG from Evapers now is because I already go there for my flavourless w/nic...and the convenience of having it in a squeeze bottle (rather than a glass bottle) is worth the extra 50 cents.

What sort of ratios are you using, hon? Like how much VG, how much PG...how much flavour? What are you vaping with (battery/atomizer/cartomizer) when you get the weird aftertaste? New or old atty/carto? Is it just some flavours that are giving you a weird aftertaste, or all? And if all...how many have you noticed this with so far?

All the above can affect taste & aftertaste. I've heard of people getting a weird aftertaste when they (inadvisedly) use a bottle of storebought "glycerin" instead of VG that's labelled VG. My early guess is that this may be an atomizer, or cartomizer, or flavouring issue...rather than the PG or VG. Let us know, ok? We'll try to get this figured out.

All VGs are not created equal nor is their viscosity the same.

I have used Jack's PG and VG in the past without any problem. As for taste vaping either straight is meh. I do this every time I receive a new batch of nic liquid to test the liquid. Those moments are not very appealing to me, especially now that I found my long lost taste buds.

hmmm intersting, i'm using the boge cartomizer, i'm using a 25 vg to 75 pg ratio, possibly it's just my cartomizer getting old, I should be getting a shipment of more later today, being new to vaping, i went through my first cartomizer much faster than i should of, and now have been using the same cartomizer for a while, thanks a bunch for your inputs, i still have some liquids from evapers, i also notice that diying the liquids are much much thicker compared to the premixed juices i got from northern vapor, could extra thick juices killing my cartomizers early?

IMO yes. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ikenvape/142394-equipment-longevity-vg-liquids.html

Northern Vapor liquids are Dekang I believe, or used to be, which is PG based.

I have been adding vg to my mixes to thin out the nicotine and have noticed, with the tanks, it doesn't wick as well. I have to sometimes to pre puffs to get liquid in, if that makes sense. I even now removed the little inserts in the mouthpiece. that little hole restricts airflow. take those 2 little inserts out and it's easier to clean the tank and you can really do a power draw hehe. if I didn't do the extra pull I got that burnt taste now and then

VG can be thinned out.

try placing the closed bottle in a bowl of very hot water for 20 minutes or so.

This will thin the VG out and also help to mix flavorants better.
