Hi, everyone

In the past, I had bought HC cartomizer + tank, it worked well but sometimes it got clogged.

Then I went to Vivi Nova, but I heard people explain that the taste/vape is not as good as carto, so I continue with Vivi + I also got a Phiniac pyrex thank and some 801 fusion cartomizers from ikenvape (with adapter for my Provari).

I just wanted to understand, yesterday brand new 801 fusion carto on my Provari. Great, used it fine. one annoying thing is, when the juice is almost over, but it doesnt cover the wholes. What do I do then? Just mix that juice with new juice or throw it out? Or it is ok if I move the tank UP a bit so that the small juice that remain can get inside the hole? :)

Today I refilled it once, I didnt put that much juice, I just opened the tank and dropped juice. Great, it worked. I followed advice on a video I saw where you insert cartos 3/4 of the way, then put juice and slowly push it down. Worked great the 1st time I use the cartos.

Then I refilled once more, put some prime 15 in there. Now I try to drag and simply its as if its clogged. But it isnt. If I take off the drip tip and look, its not flooded...

I put the tank + 801 on my ego. same thing, I cant drag it...

I keep insisting and eventually I flood it :(

So basically, after the 2nd or 3rd refill and like 2, 3 days of use, my carto goes bad :( I tried to blow out the juice from cartos, then it works a bit more and floods yet again after a few minutes.

Ideas WHY this happens and how to avoid? I cant understand :(((

Thanks.

You can slide the tank up a bit to finish off the remaining juice in the tank if that is what you wish to do.

When you add more juice to your tank, I hope you are not removing the top cap off of the tank to do this. When replacing the top cap on a full tank of juice, the pressure within the tank increases greatly and the juice has no where else to go but into the cartomizer, possibly flooding it.

Best way to refill a cartotank is to get a tank tool such as the Slap-Yo-Momma as shown in this PBusardo video:

I'm not familiar with the e-juice that you use, but I have found that the darker or thicker the juice, the faster that it will clog the polyfill in the cartomizer resulting in a heavy stiff draw or symptoms of a flooded carto. You may only get a couple of tank refills with a carto with one of these types of e-juices. What results have you gotten with clear or thinner juices?

once in awhile i'll get a flooded cart. more often than not its with a glass tank. must be due to a difference in the pressure of the tank and the cart. i just lay the tank on its side and remove the cart. if it flooded the cart there shouldnt be that much liquid left in the tank so on its side it shouldnt spill. i reconnect the cart without the tank and start vaping. i usually have to take long slow draws but after a while the flooding issue disappears and i can put it back on the tank. you can actually vape the cart several hours before putting it back on the tank. it wont leak either.

Thanks a lot for the great tips, guys. I was removing the cap although I had watched the video and I was using heavier juice.

Ill try again...

John, but the flooded ones I tried to vape it out just carto, but ended up getting juice in my mouth... seems hard to recover it once flooded... I will continue with the slow draws, etc. no sense throw them out as they are quite new...

Thanks!!!

If your cartos are flooding the problem might be the holes in the cartos are too big.

If you're getting a tight or no draw after filling a tank it is probably due to too much pressure inside the tank. You really need a tank filler like the slap yo mama to fill a tank the way I'm going to describe this. With your carto half way in the tank, fill tank with juice but leave a small gap of air at the top. Then slid the carto up until the tank tool plugs the top cap hole then tip the tank until the air bubble in the tank is over one of the carto holes then put the carto the rest of the way in. This will release any pressure and you should see tiny bubbles coming out of the carto holes each time you take a few drags. There's no need to add juice to the carto once you have initially filled it.

You also might want to punch your holes a little lower so you can use more juice before having to refill.

God, 1 more failed attempt.

Brand new carto 801 with provari. This time I used a tool I have and followed video here: Tank Tool/Filler Tip - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

I drag and nothing happens. Its full of juice in the tank... If I remove drip tip I see the top of carto has a little brown color in a certain area. Its like the juice perhaps didnt make it to the carto...

I will investigate more, when I empty my other thank in use so I can move the juice over, etc. Will try the carto directly on an Ego, a new carto... Its like the juice didnt make it to the carto, or a bad carto. I put a few drops on the side of the carto up top, still no vape.

Cartos are still hard thing for me :) Ill keep trying till I run out :)

At least I have Vivi novas and T3's to keep me satisfied, unti I slowly figure out the mysterious carto world :)

Thanks.

Alcohol was mostly for attys that you can rinse well. And not Rubbing Alc, the stuff that says 90 on it. Maybe a few drops in the water.

Rinsing with hot tap water is fine. If you have Dark, Sweet juices, 3 days use might be all you get. There are Utube vids on cleaning cartos- mostly rinse or boil and allow to get very dry- don't expect much life from them tho.

    Guys,

    Thanks a lot...

    1) About cleaning the cartos, so I have like 6 that are clogged, not working. I can soak them all in hot water? Whats easiest way?

    2) Im really having a hard time with cartos :( I tried yet 1 more brand new 801 fusion carto. I used the method described on the Phiniac site, using their tool to fill up. Tank Tool/Filler Tip - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

The thing is, on my provari (with the adapter), its very little vape this time... Changed battery, same thing. I put it on an Ego, a bit better, but not all that nice vape I usually have. Put a few drops making sure to not get it in the hole

The thank is partially filled (just a little bit) with normal non dark juice... What do I do now?

I imagine the juice is really not making it through the hole for some reason, but whatever I do, try to get a pin and insert in hole to make sure its open or add more juice or vape harder, I run the risk of flooding it :(

Ill keep trying and if all goes bad stick to the vivi nova's and t3's. For me, far from an advanced vaper, the difference is not so big either, although the 801, when I get it working, gives me a very nice vape.

    Thanks.

The main reason most people have problems with glass tanks and cartos flooding is the way they fill them. You really need to use a filler tool to do it properly. If you just fill the tank and then snap the top on you create pressure in the tank and it pushes too much juice into the carto. If you punch your own cartos then you need to fill from the bottom making sure not to fill over the hole.

Don't try to blow out the carto while it's still in the tank. It will just blow air into the tank creating too much air pressure inside the tank and force the juice back into the carto and out the bottom

You can turn the tank over so the juice level is below the wicking hole, hold it in a paper towel and blow from the bottom.

Robert, I would use vodka or everclear for cleaning. Let them soak overnight then blow them out a little and then let them dry completely. It may take more than overnight to dry.

One thing that can cause flooding is too much draw, a long light draw will cause more liquid to be vaporized and less to be drawn in on each hit. Also any restriction on the air flow will increase the amount of liquid being pulled in. This is just like drinking through a straw with a hole in it. As you overcome the air loss of the hole you get more liquid with more draw. I dont use the 801s but I know they are designed a little different so of course you need to make sure the air hole is not covered at all.

I sometimes catch myself getting a little gurgling going if I get to going too hard on a tank, if this happens I push the voltage up a little like half a volt or less and take super slow, easy draws for a few puffs and it will usually clear. If it doesnt clear then pull the tank and wipe out the connector and try again.

One last thing you mentioned a partially filled tank. Since air expands and liquid does not it seems to me that I do notice this happens more often with a low tank than a full one.

Hope you get it sorted because for many a tanked carto is just an easy reliable and consistent vape.

Thanks, guys, great tips. will try to follow.

Sometimes its tough, for example, the carto (2 holes) Im on now is new, its just not vaping as well as other ones... I added more jucie, using tool... It works, but I dont get all that vape or barely any vape at all actually. I imagine the juice is not penetrating in the carto?? Or a deffective carto? I increased voltage, etc. but still... Also tried it on ego battery...

So Im not sure what to do to try to fix it. Remove the cartos and blow to check if air comes out of hole and if not put a pin in the hole to make sure juice can get in there or maybe put juice in cartos directly using syringe (without the tank) and try to use cartos by itself?

Maybe its even a bad carto. Just wondering what route youd take as Im ruined so many cartos, any advice is welcomed :)

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Still having a hard time :( What do you suggest? aI had some success at first, but every Ikenvape 801 I put in my Provari, using the Phiniac tool Tank Tool/Filler Tip - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

fails :( all I feel is a burning taste... maybe i got a bad batch or something? my fusion adapter sometimes I need a wrench as i have hard time to unscrew it. but its not that, because I put the cartomizer 801 fusion in an ego battery and it also doesnt work.

Then I start to think is it the holes? The juice not making it in? but if i blow i see a bit of juice come out of holes... although cartos seems quite dry. so i use synringe to fill sides, and try to vape on cartomizer without tank, again works very poorly.

I guess Ill try other batch, etc...

Ive tried with my phiniac thank, with my generic tank. Strangely I vape and nothing comes, as if juice not making it to the hole :(

    Thanks
