I'm looking for the e-cig that produces the best flavor output. I've done enough research to realize it's not just about the e-juice, it's about what you've got as well. I'm new to the scene so I really don't know much about the hardware.. so I'm asking for help.
I'd prefer to be able to just buy a starter kit that can do the job but if that's not the best option I would like to know so I can start thinking about the different mods.

I also don't have too much of a strict budget but at the same time I don't think I'd be willing to buy anything over $70. I know they can be pretty cheap so to think I'd be buying one at like $100 is ridiculous ya know? ;) However give me your recommendations no matter the cost, I still want to consider all possibilities and learn from it too!

No its not the Juice. Tgere are lots of factors to consider.

1. Chamber size of the Atty.
2. The wicking material.
3. Tge amount of wattage
4. Metal the coils are made of.
5. Resistance of the coils.

If you want great flavor.....
1. Get a flavor chasing atty.
2. Use Stainless Steel wire.
3. Learn to build so you can create builds to bring out the best flavor your ejuice.

Best flavor chasers i have used.

Darang RDA
Silverplay Nano RTA
Goblin Mini RTA

An interesting thing about vaping is the less you spend the better it gets. There are things to learn to get where you want to go so perfecting the experience is going to happen over time. You can't spend your way to perfection.

I believe the best way to start is with a higher ohm coil fired at 8-10 watts. A Nautilus mini fits that description and is legendary for flavor. You might find that's as good as it needs to be. I moved on to a $7 rda and a $25 mod that produce an experience I find superior to the N mini but there were things I needed to learn before i could produce those results. Those include mixing and rebuilding. I wasn't ready to do those things for 6 months and in the beginning I was sure I'd never do them.

COULD NOT AGREE MORE.

I'm using a Kayfun lite plus V2 clone i paid about ,$7 for at Fasttech, and using the istick Pico mod.

Vape at 8-10 watts on a .8 ohm coil snd think the flavor is GREAT!

Welcome @Kamnet and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Two very affordable kits available today that I personally own and like the flavor output are the Pico Kit with the Melo III Mini and the SMOK Alien with the Baby Beast tank. Both are in your price range and have good feedback from other personal users.

I think you need to tell if you would be doing mouth to lung inhales or direct to lung, because if you are perhaps only a mtl vapor, you may get more responses to those particular devices. The mod doesn't come into play, it's all in the type of tank. You then might want to tell if you are a dripper (rda) or a tank person (feeds itself after you fill a reservoir ). Again you may get more pin pointed suggestions. And in both of those types, you have premade coils in which you just screw in (great flavor) or make your own coils (rebuildables, best flavor once you practice some/ requires a bit more knowledge ).

Seriously?

Hardware: Your mouth. It takes about a year of staying off the stinkies before your mouth really starts to taste things properly. You gotta put in the time.

Software: Start DIY`ing. You get to chose the flavor level of what you make instead of it being chosen for you, you can bump it up or bump it down. THIS RIGHT HERE, is the easiest way to get more flavor out of your vape. PERIOD.

BOL.

This thread is going to be 100% subjective. All boils down to how you vape and how you build your coils and what trips your trigger best.

Very true. Best thing the OP could do (in my opinion) is get a starter kit (something like the pico starter kit) and then learn about building and mixing juice. Once you learn how to make your own coils and mix your own juice, you'll be able to figure out what works best for you!

Good luck!

This is a very personal thing. You need to find what best suits you.

Many say that sub-ohming produces more flavour, hence the recommendations for RDAs etc. I have found that I do not like the taste produced by sub-ohm units. To me, it tastes bitter, hot and rather nasty. If I back off to low wattage 1.8 ohms, it is much more satisfying, particularly for mouth to lung, which is what I prefer. For me it was all about getting off the smokes, and this is what worked.

I was also crap at producing my own coils.

Horses for course I guess.

Or could go with even a Smok kit with the TFV8 (not my cup of tea) that will at least have options of drop in coils as well as rba option. Personally i think the TFV(x) is junk but that is my opinion not shared by at least THOUSANDS of people so different strokes for different folks. What he needs to do is get to a vape shop that will allow him to try different attys. When i couldnt taste any flavor at a local B&M (was out flavor shopping to think of what i wanted to add to my diy flavor lineup) I couldnt taste anything from their testers so he whipped out a dripper... not up to snuff with my rig but because he had it iw as actually able to taste things.

Find a B&M who has a good crew that will allow you to try something other then their little ego pens they are by far not the best thing on the market for trying it out.

Personally i Smoked completely opposite to the way I enjoy vaping. I LOVE DL and i love SUB OHM to fill my lungs with thick dense flavor. If i could have told me 5 years ago to get whatever was on the market comparable to wha ti have now i would have in a heart beat done so.

The views and comments in this reply are mine and do not reflect the majority of peoples opinions as i am only one person.

Ya, interesting topic Kamnet :)

One thing I'm sure of ... your vape experience is much more influenced by the atomizer you chose than the mod. And the juice is an important variable as well, but that goes without saying. All the mod has to do is supply the watts (power) you want to vape at. There are some mods that do temperature control better than others, there are some that are more accurate than others, but these things can all be worked around if they are lacking a bit. A substandard atomizer OTOH will stop you in your tracks with no way to recover.

Best atomizers I've tried for flavor so far:

Aqua V2 clone ... Dual coils. Excellent combination of TH and flavor. Never leaks unless I really mess up. Tricky to set up coils, I wouldn't recommend for a beginner builder. Most restricted air flow of all the atties I use. Prefer it around 15-18 watts. Using 31 gauge wire.

Rose V3 clone ... Single coil. Excellent combination of TH and flavor. My fave right now. Never leaks unless I really mess up. Easy/consistent to set up. Downside is it's a bit hard to get to the coil/wick. Prefer it at around 18 watts. Using 28 gauge wire.

Augvape Merlin ... Single coil. Excellent combination of TH and flavor, easy to set up, but it can leak sometimes (major negative when out and about). Some people have had major leaking issues with it. Prefer it at around 20 watts. Using 28 gauge wire.

Ubertoot UTA2 clone ... Single coil. Still experimenting with this one. Gets great reviews. I know the following so far. It doesn't leak easily if set up right. Flavor and TH were a problem for me the first couple of setups but it's getting pretty good now. Seems to need a hotter coil (higher heat flux) to perform at its best. It has many wicking options so there's a lot of experimentation available and possibly needed to get the best performance for you. I wouldn't recommend this one for a beginner builder. So far I'm preferring this one at around 21 watts, even though I've got it set up at what should be IMO better for lower watts. It continues to improve so I'm sticking with it for now.

Steam Crave Aromamizer RDTA V1 ... Dual coils. The first tank I tried and felt was as good as a dripper. This is the tank that got me away from bottom feeders and drippers and into the newer RTAs. I wouldn't recommend it to a beginner builder, but I have to give it honorable mention for the very good flavor, TH and consistent build performance. ** Above par TH with zero nic juice **. Main downside is it's really hard to get it set up to not leak when its sideways. Prefer it at around 30 watts these days with 28 gauge wire.

Augvape Boreas ... Dual coils. Superb flavor at higher watts, better flavor with the same juice than the lower watt atties I've covered above. Using 24 gauge wire at around 38 watts. I've got three air flow holes open about 20%. Downside is it drinks juice like it's going out of style
yes3.gif
and it also leaks if on its side like the Aromamizer.

The other lower power atties that come to mind that are really good are the Kayfuns and Taifuns. There are also a lot more than a few higher power atties that excel at flavor these days.

Have fun with it and let us know what you discover @Kamnet :thumb:

Your gonna have to spend some money and make some mistakes to find what atomizer works best for you. I have been vaping for year and a half now and the best sub ohm tank for me has been the Smok series. I have the Baby Beast and TFV8. Both are amazing for flavor. If you want to Vape at a wattage lower than 80watts I would recommend either the Baby Beast or Big Baby by Smok. The TFV8 needs to be vaped at 80watts or above depending on coil to really enjoy best flavor. You can't go wrong with either one. Take it from someone who has wasted a lot of money trying different tanks. It won't break the bank either. You can get all for bout 30.00 or 20.00
