Hey all

Hoping to gain some insight from some of the experienced vapors out there ...

I just picked up an ego twist 1000 and so far I love it . I am using the standard fill cartridges that came with the ego twist and I have a few questions reguarding my setup . I notice that people will mix and match there battery and cartridge with none stock cartridges . Am I missing out buy using the standard cart as a posed to upgrading my cart to some other style ?

Thanks for any advance for any info , or correction on my terminology :)

Carto = cartomizer = Coil and filler soaked with juice all in one unit.
Cart = Cartridge = Plastic cap that goes on a metal atomizer. 2 piece design.

There are a variety of cartos that you can use. Since that twist is vv (variable voltage) you can try all sorts of ohm ratings and carto designs until you find some that you like. Best to get a variety and read reviews 1st.

I'm not sure I can recommend any one in particular. They kind of go in cycles and if you ask 50 vapers you'll get 50 answers. You have to decide if you want a tank, standard carto, or atomizer. Some are even rebuildable and that's a whole different can of worms. So... it takes time and experience. I guess I'd try CE2's to start around 2.5 ohms +/-. Boge has been having issues so I hear. There are plenty of others. Check youtube for reviews too. And like I said, see ECF's review section.

The reason I like the vivi nova is it's easy to clean and easy to fill. The coil and wicks are replaceable, which is a big plus for me. It has a nice draw, not too airy and not too tight. It also seems to have better vapor output than a cartomizer. In fact, I go through a lot more juice now that I use it. Nothing horrible, but it does use more. More vapor = more juice being used.

Let's see...on my Twist I've used a Dual Coil Cartomizer 2.0Ω in a tank; a 510 LR (1.5Ω) atomizer; a Fusion 2.5Ω carto in a tank and a Cannon 2.5Ω atomizer all successfully.

Each one of those cartos/atties has its own characteristics and adds it's own spin to the flavor of the juice I use. I have been using variable voltage for nearly 2 years and am quite pleased with the versatility of the Twist.

I had to use an adapter for the Fusion carto tank—it is not a 510 connection—and it worked beautifully with that set-up as well.

So, to answer your question are you missing out? Maybe. It just depends what you are looking for with your vaping experience. I can just attest that the Ego Twist is a very nice, quite versatile VV PV.

Like Atty stated, it's something you have to decide; and, as with everything vaping, it's whatever works for you :)

While there are a few out there that do like the ego tank system with the carts, there are more of us out there that hated it. So personally order a carto, a clearo and an dripping atty and just see which you prefer, ordering one of each won't cost you much, and you will be able to decide which you want.

Once you know that, then you can start looking at things like the vivi nova if you like the clearos or a tank if you like the cartos.

that's an offal lot today take in

I currently have the clear tank that I add my juice to and it seem pretty easy. But I am willing to try other set ups, hence the reason behind why I started this thread :)

Could any of you post some links to the respective mentioned items so I can see just what types of set ups you are talking about.
Again, thanks for the info!

Pick up an eGo Vision V3 and start from there... If you want bigger capacity you can always go to a Vivi Nova. It's all about taste and vapor, and each is different. If you're happy with your setup and is cost effective for you don't upgrade because you see others doing it. Go with your taste. Ask questions. Search your local vendors and what's available.

IMHO, the First Rule of Vaping is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If you like the setup you're using, don't worry about missing out on something better. If you start getting annoyed with your setup for some reason, then look for something that removes that annoyance (it might be time between charges, or between refills, or the taste or throat hit, or the size or shape).

But don't go down the road of buying lots of new stuff (and usually finding out you don't like it), if you don't have to.

Originally posted to show off the holder, but this might help. The ones in the back are regular size vivi nova (wider) the mini vivi novas are slimmer (flush with the ego body). The one in the front is a rebuildable atomizer I just use to direct drip. I just rebuilt all 3 this weekend with some cotton yarn + kanthal wires. Easy once you get the hang of it, and cheaper in the long run (so I've been told anyway, I haven't saved any money quitting smoking at all lol)
