Hi,

I've never been in a forum before, just opened an account to answer this question. Sorry if it's in the wrong thread

Anyway, I've got a M80 plus with an aspire tank

I've had it for a week now, all was going well it was baking good and I could taste the flavours until today morning when it was going a bit harsh

I was told this was going to happen and was told to change my coil/atomiser

I changed it, adding a bit of liquid in the mesh bit inside and a bit of liquid around the outside. I let it sit for a minute or two

Stared smoking it at 40w then 60w
The clouds are normal but I can't taste the flavour at all and it seems a bit harsh

Any advice?

hi @Billypee and welcome to the forum. Aspire makes a few different tanks (like a half dozen). Atlantis? Atlantis 2? Triton? Nautilus? K1? And what size coil are you using? If you're overpowering the coil it can cause harshness. Once a coil goes bad it's a good idea to clean out the tank and use new juice as sometimes the old coil can depart the bad flavor into the tank. It's also possible part of the issue can be vapors tongue, a temporary loss of taste. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/search/2126434/?q=vapors+tongue&o=relevance&c[node]=39 Make certain you are drinking lots of water when you vape, brushing teeth can help, switching flavors can help,... Harshness can be caused by the nic content in the juice. What is the nic level? Harshness, as in throat hit can also be caused by PG. What is the PG /VG content of the juice.

I know I just asked a few questions, but knowing the answers can help someone determine the exact issue.

what coil build are you using and also what type of juice and exact tank model. aspire has quite a few tanks. if your vaping high I assume your coil is high res. 1. start low on wattage 2, PG carries flavor and depending on brand some have very little taste others are more better, air flow plays a huge role in flavor. more air flow = more vapor and cools coils faster where as less air flow = more flavor but you'd probably want lower wattage if lowering air flow so it doesn't over heat coil/burn your cotton and juice.

I've vaped at .5ohms and .4 and even 2.0 ohms haven't got past 25-32 although I was recommended going 30-35 I don't seems to get a burnt taste. chances are your vaping TOO HOT thus why it is so harsh besides nic content of course too.

your wattage might be too high for that particular coil. start out with low wattage then increase as necessary if you start to get a harsh taste or "burnt hit" immediately dial the wattage back down to where it tasted good. now, if your not tasting anything you could have vapers tongue. most new vapers get it at some point. switch out your juice flavors and you can try to reset your palate by grinding coffee and inhale the aroma on and off through out the day. this worked for me when I had vapors tongue but it does not work for everyone. but it's worth a try. it's a trick chocolate tasters do to re set their taste after tasting so much chocolate. Don't worry, if it's vapors tongue it will go away. however, it sounds to me like your wattage is set too high because you are tasting, it's just harsh and burnt. I do hope this helps you out. best wishes. :)

Hi
Its the Atlantis 2
I'm not sure of the coil size, is the coil the atomiser?
I'm using a non nicotine base liquid as I don't smoke cigarettes

i just brushed my teeth and ready about vapours tongue, maybe I'll change flavours and see how it is or I'll ask my brother to check if he can taste it

Hi,
Maybe it is vapours tongue, but I'm using it on 3ohms
It was all going well until I changed my atomiser
But I've been doing it on 60w since day one and since this can go up to 80w they said 60w is a good w

your wattage depends on what tastes right to YOU. my unit goes to 120 watts but I'm never vaping that high because depending on my atomizer I would be vaping a burned out wick at that wattage. if your units giving you a rank nasty taste, change the coil and TRY turning down the wattage. Rule of thumb is start LOW then dial up the wattage. you will be able to TASTE when the wattage I'd too high. at that point, dial it down. not every atomizer or juice will vape at the same wattage. it should be adjusted to achieve the best flavor. you might give that a try. I do think it will help. vapers tongue is not being able to taste your juice, it's not necessarily experiencing a bad or funny taste. That usually is regarding a burnt wick or coil. hope this helps.
