The first 24-36 hours of vaping I was thinking that I wish I could get more throat hit. But I was so pleased with the flavours I got and the whole experience that I envisioned myself never smoking analogs again.
After that grace period, I became extremely sensitive to the pulls I was taking and coughing as bad as if I were smoking a stronger analog then I was used to.
Did something happen to my joyetech 510 that I "broke it in" or what? I am at a loss and desperately want to continue to vape and maybe quit analogs for good, but right now I can hardly stand my PV.

HELP!!

Could just be the juice you are using. What is it's base (PG/VG)? What is the nicotine level?

When I first started vaping I had a lot of throat irritation, dry mouth, etc for couple weeks. Not sure what causes that, but it helps just to drink a lot of water. Not sure if that has any relation to what you're experiencing.

Don't give up on it!! I'm sure others will give you some good advice on what to try

Re: Nic Content-
I was a pretty heavy smoker. I don't discount this, but I wonder why the first day and half were so easy and even seeming to not be enough TH.
Re: PG v. VG-
I suppose VG's are advertised as such? Is PG allergy common? I thought PG was the method used to deliver medical grade inhalations. I have had these before with no problem (due to smoking for 20+ years unfortunately).

I can't know about your case Legion. But, for me, a harsh, unpleasant drag usually means an atomizer which is starved for juice. But, I see from #7 that you don't think that's your case. Sorry. Hope you get things worked out.

Ok, help me out here- if the "flavor" is fine, does that mean that the atty is not "starved"?

Not sure I can help without borrowing your throat. Yeah, if the atty is too dry the flavor would likely be affected. But, if it is not affected, then I'm not too clear on what you're talking about.

Good, but harsh? Very hot?

Asking for clarification's sake, and others may offer better answers, but they'd likely need to know the answers too.

I would say that attys are not burning up- the flavors are good.
I am pretty sure that my juices are PG.
My nic level is one below the maximum that was offered to me, what ever mg that is.

Yeah that is probably pretty high nic level then. PG based juices are going to give you a stronger throat hit also. Even if you're not allergic to PG it can be an irritant to throat, lungs. That usually goes away over time though. Remember, your body will go through an adjustment period, but that's a good thing.

You might want to try direct dripping onto the atty to see if that makes a difference.

Yes, good flavor but too harsh.

Is direct dipping just putting a few drops onte the atty along with a full cart?

Tomorrow I am going to order some VG juices in a lower nic level.

Sounds like perhaps you are using 24mg nicotine. Might try 18mg. Maybe some 50/50pg/vg juice too. Just throwing out what I would maybe have tried if it were me.
I wish you success, cuz it sure as hell is worth it for me. I haven't coughed in almost 3 months and that is just amazing, not to mention all the other good things that have taken place since quitting smoking.

I coughed my pancreas out when I was starting. From what I read is common to have smoking withdrawal issues. I used analogs AND the PV for some days, gradually reducing the amount of analogs... coughed less but still coughed. Sweet juices (vanilla, mint) seemed to made me cough less than fruity ones (strawberry, peach).

Don't give up, change the juice, play with the nic content, you will find that sweet spot soon enough.

I am pretty sure that my juices are PG.

You could try and track down liquid labeled as simply VG. VG is so incredibly smooth a lot of people don't like it. I can vape on 30mg VG and it's much smoother than an 18mg PG solution.

If you just wanted to test real fast you could get a bottle of VG at your local grocery store for like $5. If you can vape it smoothly than you know it's the PG. If it's still harsh then you've eliminated PG allergy as a variable and you can go from there with more concrete information.

You can also cut your e-juice with some VG, which is vegetable glycerin. You can get it in the beauty/skin care section of WalMart or your local drugstore. It's listed as a skin protectant and should say 100% vegetable glycerin on the bottle - nothing else. It might cut the flavor a bit (VG tends to dull the flavor of juices), but that might be a good option for you until your new shipment arrives. I'm hoping that others here who are more versed on DIY and juice modifications will chime in. Adding some VG (it has no nicotine) will also cut the nic strength for you.

When it comes to pulling, you might be pulling too hard, as well. Smoking analogs is a bit different than vaping. What you want to do is pull very slowly and very gently for about three seconds, then let up on the manual switch (if you have a push button battery). Hold the vapor in your mouth for a second, then do a shallow inhale/exhale. When smoking, we tend to do those hard drags and deep inhales to get what we need out of them. Not needed on a PV; they're very gentle ladies. :)

Don't give up! You'll get the hang of it! Tweak here, tweak there ... it'll work for you. :)

Ha, I just happen to be at work at a very large organic grocer and found some VG right away. I will go home tonight and try cutting my carts with it.
