So this morning I whipped up a batch of some skittles ejuice (tastes amazing) but I have a little problem, the throat hit is quite high.. I'm using 75% VG, 25% PG, so the PG isn't a problem (I think?), and I only used a target strength of 12mg.
I only made a batch of 30ml, (I've made this eliquid before just without nic and it turned out well, except I used like 85% VG and 15% flavouring )
Here's my steam-engine calculator setup

Followed the recipe quite well, not sure where I went wrong :( What can cause the rough throat-hit I'm getting?
Would a higher VG/PG ratio be better, like 85/15, 90/10, would that high of a ratio be suitable for the tank I have (kangertech aerotank) thanks! :)

Are you used to 12mg and that isn't normally that harsh to you? 75/25 vg/pg is fine. The vg mutes the throat-hit of the nic whereas the pg just lets it "loose". I would try a new mix with lower nic, and also make sure to have shaken the nic bottle good before you use it the first time. It's not often, but it could have hotpots from not enough mixing from the vendor. You don't need to make a new mix, but just dilute down your mix with some more vg/pg and flavor...

12mg is my normal vape. I considered shaking the nic bottle but I thought that can be bad for the nic as it can lead to it oxidizing quicker? (Read it online somewhere)

Yes, shaking does lead to more oxidation, but its recommended to do it anyway, since you only have to do it once, before first use, and since it's not that bad if just done once. Most times it's not needed as the vendors has equipment in use for well mixing the base uniformly together, but it's just a precaution. Some nic bases also give higher throat-hit than others, but it shouldn't be that dramatically a difference either... Try to look in your bottle and see if you can see small layers or pockets of thinner viscosity liquid... When you shake it there will be small airbubbles all around, it's not those i'm reffering to...

Sorry, I don't really know what to tell ya...
