And replaced with what? Feel free to find and post more up to date data. If the numbers are now 780 µg of Acetoin and/or AP, does that negate the point I'm making?
Unbelievable really with the shifting of the goal posts. No point really for more data ... you seem to not get along with data and i wouldn't want to make you even angrier.

Shifting of goal posts? Really? I posted data on the release of Diacetyl in popcorn that contained it. Data I've never seen shared here before. Please, please please update the data so we can all share the latest data based on the latest popcorn formulations. My understanding is that Diacetyl was replaced with Acetoin and AP. Do you have any info to the contrary? Are you aware of any new production techniques that limit the release (of whatever they are using now) to lesser amounts?

Please share any data you have. I'd like to believe you want to talk about the facts and not just shoot holes in everything posted here.

Sorry, i am not affiliated with the popcorn industry and don't follow the the latest innovations in the industry.

You stated that there was a lot of diacetyl released when popcorn is microwaved, and seemed worried about the children, and angry that there are no warning labels. I just wanted to reassure you that the diacetyl has been removed. Otherwise i have no interest in popcorn tbh.

Just want to point out that you linked to several articles that contained statements from popcorn makers promising to remove diacetyl. Based on what you said here, you have no idea what they replaced it with or if they even followed through after the media went away. You claim not to be even interested in the matter. For a guy suggesting I can't deal with facts, you seem to have precious few facts to offer. Just a few media puff pieces. Surely you have better data than a couple 7 year old articles with a few promises to deliver?

Just for the record my comments on people never budging from their " i'm right no matter what data is presented " was NOT aimed at you although i made it seem like it .
Well if you feel that way you might want to start presenting data. Everyone else is.
I know I do or am I missing something?
Anyway,Happy New Years Regards,
I'm starting early this year.

I was there I still have the tanks and the respirator here in my home, the VA sends people out once a month to check if I use them, in the four plus months that I have been vaping my O2 blood levels have rose from the 89 to 97 and that's not smoking and strictly vaping, also I have lost weight, my energy levels are up and I am also close to being off my diabetes medication. So when I say that vaping has saved my life I mean it. I am here to tell you that when you put those sticks down, positive things happen to your health. Don't by into this garbage, there are people here that know first hand the how vaping has helped.
If you were a rat you'd get more credibility here...

/sarcasm off...
Glad to hear of your success!!

You are interrogating me as if i am the president of the popcorn council. I already said i am not affiliated to the popcorn industry in any way. Why are you grilling me for data ? I just did a quick google and linked a couple of results for you. The first link seems to indicate that as of late 2007, three out of the four largest popcorn manufacturers have removed diacetyl and the fourth made assurances that it will be done by Jan 2008. Whether they told the truth, i don't know. What they replaced it with, i don't know. And yes, i admit, i don't really care, because i don't sniff microwaved popcorn on a daily basis.

I am sorry i can't waste my time doing research for you. If you are concerned, perhaps you could pop your popcorn the old fashioned way, and add the butter yourself. And if you must microwave it, perhaps you can open the bag under the ventilation hood in your kitchen. I don't mean to be rude, but i won't respond to any more interrogatory posts re microwave popcorn.

oops my bad ! should've been more clear, air pop and add the butter later.
Well, now I'm worried that I'm going to have to file a report with the Safety Committee at work regarding Popcorn Friday. The machine uses a butter-flavored paste/oil mix for the popping.

Popcorn kernels in a Plain paper Lunch type bag.
Microwave
Top as preferred, Cheddar or perhaps............................BACON!!!:drool::drool: and enjoy.

By the way, searching a few hours ago, DA or Diketones were in most Microwave Popcorn at least as late as 2014
There was also the added concern of the Packaging off gassing

Life, it is out to get you at every turn.

Still, for me, it beats living in the white room.:thumb:

Back to enjoying life!
