Willing to share more but would prefer a different thread. I would love to find others with similar symptoms to exchange test results. I want to get in contact with someone actively researching health risks of vaping and wouldn't mind considering civil action on the above companies.

Seriously ? are you going to compare notes and then bring that information to your "small team of physicians" ?
I think if it took my pulmonolgist specialist more than a year to diagnose for bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome I would seek out others, maybe even in another state and not just the free advise coming from the hospital your doing your internship at.

Well, there's this thing called addiction.....

I had been smoking cigarettes since I was young. I switched because I believed (and still believe) vaping is harm reduction. The problem is in a few flavoring compounds (which are not labeled). I just happened to favor a few flavors while knowing absolutely nothing about the flavoring industry and how flavors are made. If I could go back, I would have still vaped, maybe even still at the levels I did, but would have been far more particular about my juice selection.

So you didn't do any research of information that has been around for a while pertaining to substances which you proceeded to inhale in very large quantities when you claim to possess a strong medical background? I remember reading about diacetyl years ago, and I remember paying attention because of my preference for vanilla flavor.

Companies that lie should be held accountable, but, in my honest opinion, you need to hold yourself accountable as well. The information was there, you didn't bother to look for it.

It is extremely difficult to diagnose. As are many lung illnesses, until they are very advanced. It is not uncommon for it to take many years to diagnose certain conditions. People usually get stuck in the "adult onset asthma" diagnosis. The only true way to diagnose bo is open lung biopsy. Not sure if you are familiar with that process but I will not be participating. I am really not that bad. Otherwise, there's just certain trends that need to be watched in PFTs and HRCTs. DLCO testing, and lung volume testing. It's really a puzzle with no definitive solution.

Plus, I'm not saying it's necessarily BO. BO has to be pretty advanced to call it BO.

I'm not saying I don't hold myself accountable. But being that I didn't frequent forums, I honestly had no idea.

So you are in the medical field and you decided one day to vape with no inquiry into it what so ever? Not check out the web, ask your fellow medical people...........? Just decide to vape certain eliquids with supposed AP , DA levels that happen to be the ones that have been in the news. Do your fellow medical peeps know cigs have diacetyl in them as well?

What about how you vaped? Watts, device, coils, how frequent?

Ah so now you are not that bad but hey let's start a civil action suit. Yeah let's go after some money for something I kinda might have that could not possibly be caused by smoking. Money will help everything ,even the vape community like you stated. I think you are looking for a quick buck so you can pay for medical school so you are no longer a medic. Do not delude yourself that you are helping the vape community because you are not.
Things are already changing within the industry by vendors testing and making tests public we do not need your lawsuits for you to change this.

Do you realize that 91 % of vapers have never heard of 'diacetyl' according to a Marquette University poll ? The vast majority of vapers have never heard of this issue.

Your assumptions are adorable. If there was ANY injury due to something not being labeled, especially if the manufacturers knew about the possibility of flavorings having these chemicals for many years, which most did, then there are more injured than just me. In fact, I'm in contact with a few, some much worse than myself. Some had to switch jobs to something less physical due to chronic illness. It's simple, really. It's not legal action, which could be possible due to negligence, it's civil. And at that point, I will guarantee they will test their products and place the proper warning labels on them. I will survive financially regardless. But I would at minimum like to be reimbursed for the testing that occurred.

Vaping is still not well researched. Most people in the medical field know very little. And not many pulmonologists are actually familiar with flavoring related lung disease, surprisingly enough.

So much empathy on this thread !
Please explain why I should have empathy please. An adult whom works in the medical field , vapes and has lung problems that are not too bad is looking for others to start a civil action. Please explain where his due diligence is and where my empathy should begin.

But, but your team of doctors know that vaping caused your still not diagnosed problems. Fascinating!

I ordered some organic e-juice from China, they said they would throw in a blue screwdriver for free! But, when it came in I noticed it's 0mg, this sucks!
Anyway here's a picture at least I know how to spell popcorn in Chinese now.

Just a joke, this whole study is a joke so I'll just take it with a grain of salt or a drop of Diacetyl.

Clueless people who don't bother to do some research and be reasonably responsible adults when making adult decisions shouldn't be the control group. That's how we ended up with McDonald's coffee cups that state, in essence, Hey, this coffee's HOT.

I haven't been on in awhile, but I'll play along. First, no, causation in this matter does not equal correlation because diacetyl is found in many products, including cigarettes. In facts recent studies have found it to be in a higher quantity in cigarettes than Vape.

Second; before you continue with this, I'm more curious about your "medical expirence". My gut tells me you're working towards your medic license as you mention EMS in your first post. As a former EMT for many years, I can tell you that any level of license is really diddly when it comes to any actual practical medical advice as we treat symptoms, not diagnose.

Wasn't referring to you specifically, but going back a page, i see your first post in response to him. Sarcastic, suspicious, accusatory even. Perhaps start the discussion with him in a different tone. Ask more detailed questions before questioning his motivation.

I don't know him personally and have no idea how true his story is and what his motivation is. I have empathy for his condition if indeed true ( and i have no reason as of yet to think he may be lying ), whatever the cause, and will like to hear more details with an open mind.

So your "small team of physicians" never performed a transbronchial lung biopsy or even thoracoscopic surgery, they don't do "open” thoracic surgery anymore, about the same procedure as removing ovaries as far as incisions, what kind of hospital are you working at a VA ?

Sure Mazinny, I applaud your open mind. Seriously I do. But read all the posts and see how the story changes and what his agenda has been from the beginning. I am sorry but I believe in accountability for every individual. He even admits he has not been diagnosed with this certain problem yet but, "it's looking that way" Sorry perhaps you are just a better person that I.
