I was at RadioShack today and found this power pack. $24.99. I was just curious If anyone has used this power pack for their passthroughs.
I have went ahead and purchased but can't try it out yet because my passthroughs are still sightseeing in China:(

Lenmar PowerPort™ PPU2100B - RadioShack.com

Any insight would be helpful, I have not opened it yet, so if anyone has had trouble with them, I will return it.:)

Then Lenmar is really a waste of money. My neighbor bought one and it only puts out 500 mA of power, just enough to produce a very weak vapor. I highly recommend spending the extra couple of bucks and picking up a Kensington Portable Power Pack at BestBuy for $39.99.

Thanks for the reply, that's what I wanted to know, back to RadioShack. The specs said that it had 2100 mAh. I knew someone on here would've known the truth.
I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow:D

Actually, this is the power pack that I use. It is underpowered for a standard usb pass-through, but works fine with the in-line battery type... which is what I have. The e-cig draws power from the in-line battery, and it in turn recharges from the Lenmar. I have no complaints.

Of course, I got it with a full set of adapters (car, wall, etc) for $15 from Amazon.com. The in-line battery type of USB pass-through costs a little more, but in the long run I saved about $30 not buying a Kensington.

Thanks Walrus, the passthrough that is sightseeing somewhere in China does have in-line battery. What the heck, I think I will keep it, if I have any issues I will go out and buy the Kensington.:D so I spend a little bit more of my children's inheritance.;)

Gnsmith, the 2100mAh is the battery capacity (rated in milliamp hours). That's essentially a measure of how long batteries or power packs last before needing recharge.

If you look for the fine print on the power pack itself, you might see somewhere its "output" rating (or sometimes they say "DC output"). Like this: DC output: 5V 500mA (rated in volts and milliamps). That's the measure of the current available to power whatever you're trying to power.

For a passthrough without the inline battery, the output has to be rated at least 1000mA, or 1A.
