search failed me if someone has.

I would like to know if someone has beat me to this though.

it's only a 3.7 but it's the first mod i haven't followed someone else's instructions to make. if no1 else has done 1 then I'll go into more detail abut it, but if they have I don't see y i'd bother...

Was that a flashlight?

yeah it was a LED penlight

Is that one of those penlights? I've been looking at them at Home Depot and Auto Zone.

How easy/hard was it to make?

yes it is that logo was rayovac...lol

it's not that hard to make, i had to do a fair bit of cutting and grinding though (and some gluing) but it's my first draft, i think i might be able to reduce the module size further to hide more of the atty (maybe almost completely for a 510 but i use a 901)

the easy but tricky to figure out part was how to reverse the switch when i made it tactile.

I have one of those pen lights, but have not modded it, I found the 10440 battery does not last me long enough during the day. But I like the ability to clip it into your shirt pocket :)
Great job, I think that is all yours.
Dan

ty dan, before i got my hands on 10440's from PIF to try modding i was using stock batteries. I carry extra juice and a few carts in a camera card case on my belt so instead of 6 stock batteries it's nothing to carry 4 10440's and use less space. while i'm out (i've not used more than 2 in a day though)

and that's just my first attempt at it - i think i'll get a few more to try to make it look even more like a pen

and since it's mine call it my ninja pen or the DC ninja (cause i wanted it to look like a pen for using it in stores and such)

here's a couple other pictures of it to show it:

this is how it looks compared to an 801 stock (top) and a 901 stock (bottom)

i've made the module easily removable for cleaning or service if i decide to drip with it so this is how it all lays out. the module is ugly because it took me a bit to figure out how i wanted it to go.

i think my next few should be a bit smoother since i'll only be working out module size and such for cosmetic reasons.

Did you mod the clicky switch to make momentary only?
Thanks,
Dan

yes i did but to do it you have to mechanically reverse how the switch works

K now... what voltage battery are u using and what's the mAh Just out of curiousity
well i was only given the ultra fire 3.7v rated at 350mAh but AAA style batteries are so small it's nothing to carry 4 of them w/ u and change out as needed
