since they quit smoking and started vaping?

i ask because the past few months i have found myself insanely craving spices, everything from vanilla and cinnamon to garlic, curry and tobasco. it's like i can't get enough flavor. whereas stuff i used to enjoy like coffee, i find myself partaking in less and less. i'm all about flavored teas now. i used to hate clove but now i'm ordering clove flavored juice.

am i just insane or does smoking truly deaden your tastebuds that much?

You're just insane.

How long have you been vaping? I'm in for about 2 months, just over a month totally no smokes, but I noticed that after the first week. It's been getting better and better, but that first week really hit me. I kept asking my wife what she did different with dinner 'cause it tasted so freaking good!

Yup. You're insane. I'm with Freaky on this one. LOL! J/K. I started noticing that things tasted much better within the first week or two of full-time vaping. I've discovered that things I really loved before, like really spicy food, need to be a little less spicy. I've also started using less sugar in my coffee and tea. I bought some spicy garlic pepperoncini's at the store tonight. I haven't had any of those since I switched and that should be interesting!

Ah, I mourn with you, I no longer take as much pleasure in the java. I used to be a 2 pot a day girl myself, and then I started vaping. Now I may, on a good day, have a pot as long as I have flavored creamer to go with them. For years all I drank was regular coffee with straight creamer, now I prefer a mocha, irish creme, eggnog, or peppermint flavoring. I'm loving my ginger tea with brown cane sugar nowadays.

Grrr,,,vaping, all those other heathly things I shunned for so many years: less caffeine, considerably less on the analogs and about 10 times the amount of H2O I used to drink! I would have been soooo much more afraid of vaping had I known these things before.

Since being able to taste again I enjoy the same flavors and spices, still love coffee, but it has to be
GOOD coffee. Cup of joe that was made with tap water, with overdose of clorine, minerals,
etc is now perfect swill. Filtered water, fresh ground coffee, (the smell of coffee being ground
is wonderful now), the correct brand, as your taste has changed the brand may also need to
change, coffee is now better than it ever was for me.

Don't think anyone has done a study relating sanity, and recovering tastebuds since quitting analogs.
(there's not even an ECF poll I can find?):laugh:

For me, the change i have noticed is with beer. I allways had a smoke lit while drinking my corona. Now I vape a vg blend tobacco flavor and have noticed my corona just dont taste as good. I guess that can be a good thing as now I seem to drink less too!

Now this is a problem I can speak to, as I have homebrewed and
was a certified beer judge.:toast::toast:

You just need to switch to a nice Engish IPA or bitters, good carmel hop flavors,
or on a lighter note Spaten makes an excellent selection (try 'em all!!)
Beer traditionally had citris added to hide the taste of bad beer, Corona and lime
anyone!!
