Hey all. Wanted to get some opinions on how e-liquids 'taste'. I put that in quotes for a reason. I'll explain shortly. I'm new to ecigs and loving it. Been vaping for about 2 weeks now, Tuesday was the first day I didn't want a cigarette and I haven't smoke one since Monday.

But I'm finding the few flavors I've tried so far lacking.....something....like taste. My first batch of eliquid was from Totally Wicked: menthol, marlboro, coconut and spearmint. These flavors were fairly tasty if they can be called that. My second and current batch is from Vaporbomb. Definitely more vapor here. I'd say that there's less flavor, however I am dealing with different flavors: Hypnotic Mist, Grape, Clove, Max Ultimate, Blackberry Smoothy.

Now about the 'taste'. I don't really taste these flavors. The taste isn't right their on my tongue. It's tastebuds much further back. And I wouldn't call it tasting. It's kind of between tasting and smelling, not exactly one or the other. Is this normal? Should I be tasting this stuff in the way that I taste a stick of gum when I chew it? The taste sensations that I'm getting, I wouldn't even compare to tired gum. I'd compare it to a stick of gum I've been chewing for a few days. Opinions? Suggestions?

The only thing I ever really tasted was atomic cinnicide. That stuff is like sticking a pack of big red in your mouth all at once. The rest are (to me) more like essense of taste , if that makes any sense. Some f it tastes good and some not , some good but with perfumey after taste.
Taste is very subjective , so I am sure you will see a lot of OP saying different things.

I agree w/ nyxie...First time vaping is like a kid w/ a new toy..and to me the longer i do it..the harder it is to taste or get good TH...to me as long as it doesnt taste burnt or like Poopoo, I am happy.. right now my go to vape is banana nut bread...only thing i can taste while exhaling basically.. almost smelling like u said. but congrats on quitting and vaping..it gets easier as u go..may I suggest u try out pay it forward on here...u trade a lil and get a lil, and good ppl there can help ya out.

I am having this issue myself. I tried some pre-filled carts from Liberty (I think), which was a Vanilla flavor and it was great, but have yet to find an e liquid that taste the same. In fact, I have not found any flavor to taste as good. I did like the USA Marl 24 mg. but even that one didn't have the TASTE...more like I only taste it as its exhaling. I want a flavor to stick to my tongue. Anyone? And no, "that's what she said" jokes please.

LMAO...ok......so if u want some to taste on ur tongue try any of the red hot cin. stuff..atomic cin.. fire bomb..etc.. but ur taste buds will be fried...Geoff's blend from Tasty Vapor is kinda like this w/ a mix of other yummy, so it is not as harsh...or minty type flavors, but that is soo hard to get out of an atty. I suggest if u try any of these u use just one atty for it. IMO

Keep in mind that we're "tasting" a vapor. Smell comes into play here more then our tastebuds in many ways. Also, our sense of smell and sense of taste will dull if we're using the same flavor for long. Everyone's different, but you will probably need to switch to a different juice every so often in order to continue getting the flavor.

Having said that, the strongest, most flavorful juices I've had are from Tasty Vapor. Maybe it's because they hand-mix each order, but they pack in the flavor IMHO. Their Atomic Cinnacide makes my mouth water! Made everything else pale in comparison to me. I've also heard good things about Ms. T's and DIY Flavorshack, both of which mix to order as well.

I had taste issues on n off for abt my first 5-6 months vaping. sometimes even the most flavorful liquids would seem to turn to tasteless vapes overnite and the next day be the strongest ones....strange but seemed to subside for me over time. Ive only been vaping a lil over a year, but I think the past 4-5 months have been very consistant as far as liquids go. i also didt notice I was missing my sens of taste until around that same time. Everyone else seems to "get thier taste back" after a few weeks, but I suppose as always, I was a late bloomer ;)

It will get better, dont give up on any flavors yet....throw the "so-so" ones in the fridge and come back to em in a week .... they may just become a staple :)

After vaping for 3 months, I can barely taste even Cinnacide. But then again, it's all I've been vaping for the past 4 weeks, so my taste buds are acclimated to it. I seem to recall hardly noticing any taste to my Marboro's as well. After all, I smoked for over 10 years. That said, the various tastes did make an impression when I started vaping 3 months ago, for good or for ill. I suspect if you're relatively new to vaping and not getting a lot of taste, it's because of the particular liquid you're buying, and you just need to try different liquid; in the OP's case, I suggest a different brand. Whereas if you're an experienced vapor and not getting much taste, it's because you're too used to your flavor and probably need to switch. Which I'm about to do since AC is starting to taste like air.

Drink water when you vape. I found that (for me) my mouth kinda' goes numb-ish and swishing with water helps some. Also I inhale/exhale through my nose a lot of the time. I also rotate between 5-9 different flavors throughout the day, trying to not get too 'numb' to any one of them. Also, weirdly, some foods accentuate some vaping flavors. Some nullify.

Might be time to switch out to a strong Peppermint flavor or similar one (TV peppermint w/ sweetener is great). :D

I definitely have to swap flavors all day to keep tasting things right. I start out with Tobacco Menthol , to fool myself about the smoking LOL. Then when that gets old I switch to a sweet flavor and then see how that goes.
I also can say Ms. T's is great stuff even though Tasty Vapor is still my Favorite right now, mainly because they have the tobacco menthol she doesnt. I have some more flavors coming from Ms'T tomorrow so I will see how I like those, then more flavors from TV LOL. I want to try Vapor Station next.

Holy cow I got some Tasty Vapor Spearmint Menthol in the mail today. I LOVE it. it is like the flavor burst of Atomic Cinnicide but Spearmint instead. I don't see it on the website , so it must have been a custom order. I didn't order it myself , I got it with a classified ad. I will have to ask what it was exactly so I can order some more.
