Has anyone perfected the taste of a Menthol Analog?

Hello,

I am in need of a recipe for the perfect menthol liquid. My typical brand was Marlbro 72 menthol. I feel I'm about to give up on the whole E-cig thing if I can't get my craving for a good menthol pacified.

I've ordered 2 ounces of Menthol Crystals, but the supplier is taking his/her sweet time getting it out. Although, I know that this is not the same thing, the Lorann's Creme de Menthe is not working....one bit. I think I put almost a 2. ml of this in an 8. ml liquid.

I also, have peppermint...which I'm tempted to add on top of what I've made.

If someone could please help me, I would be very grateful!

Well, I have used 3ml of ry4 24mg, 2 drops of water, 4 drops of menthol drops and 2 drops of lorann wintergreen. Not perfect yet, but it's a start. Still trying to come up with a newport flavor. When I find, I'll post it.

Thanks alot Sun! Although, I couldn't wait anymore, for shipments.
So I went to the local pharmacy (CVS) and asked for menthol crystals.....and he had them! I asked for 5 grams of the stuff, and since they don't have prices for that amount because they only carry 16 ounce bottles of theit for 69 bucks. He had no way of pricing it, so it was free!

I got greedy and tried it at the other CVS across town....and it again was Free!! Whoot!

Now to figure out how much to use with out creating something to set my lungs on fire.

Ded you're going to have to experiment to find the taste that is right for you. Use small amounts of the crystals in a small bottle or jar of your juice. Don't use your whole bottle in case you don't like it. I just put 3-4 chips in a small bottle half full of juice and seal it tight and put it in some hot water till it dissolves. Sun microwaves and says that works for him. Then just add it to your juice or cart and see how you like it. I also would recommend Liquidxpress.com. They have a nice menthol flavoring to add to your juice. Works for mixing your own juice or spiking some existing juice you have that you don't like. Good luck.

If it's menthol or mint from anywhere I'll pretty much vape it and deal with it. Haven't found any I hated. If I had to pic a favorite, it would be True Vapor's Pure Menthol. Awesome stuff.

I got some of the menthol drops in from Juicyliquid the other day, and I've been pretty impressed by them. The flavor is pretty intense. I put about 5 drops in 4ml and it was plenty strong.

I wish I had read your post before making my vial of menthol liquid. Although I did make a separate vial exclusive to water/vodka and menthol crystal. I believe it's now concentrate. I added 1 drop to my batting, to the existing liquid and now unlike my sig, I'm smoking vicks vapor rub, Aaaack! Gonna have to add more water to this concentrate.

Ded, I am a menthol freak too. But I decided to leave my comfort zone and branch out to other flavors. It helped me make the change from analogs to PV's. I do have some really poor menthol, but I only use it to make new flavors.
Your post about Vicks tasting menthol made me laugh! Welcome.

Try this liquid that I do myself. Its actually closer to a marboro smooth and a normal menthol (but I smoked smooths before discovering e-cigs). This makes a small batch but gives you room to play.

4 ML PG
2 ML Lorann peppermint flavoring
1 1/2 ML Distilled water

Decent throat hit and tastes just like a Marb. Smooth.

I don't know about Marlboro 72 but I smoke either Marlboro Menthol Lights or B&H Menthol Lights and here is what I mix for a 20ml bottle (quantities are approximate):

12ml Janes high strength menthol
2ml Truevapor 24mg spearmint
2ml Janes high strength tobacco. Gives it a hint of tobacco flavor.
2ml VG
2ml PG
2-3 small pinches of crushed menthol crystals. I grind it up a little so it dissolves easier.

I'm sure there's a bunch of good recipes out there but this comes pretty close for me. The spearmint adds a minty taste which balances out the menthol from the crystals.

Keep experimenting and you'll find the right mix
