im thinking about buying 3 for 20 dollars
deal is for what looks like simple version of the imfamous rda octopuss which i want; a simple rebuildable dripper.
this "cheapie dripper from sun-vapers looks kindof cheap. but the fact that it comes with a drip tip (others dont)
i would be willing to buy so that i have a few extra's if i choose to upgrade to the actual rda
if anyone has experience with this dripper please give me your review so i can make a decision and or save some money :2cool:

this is link to Cheapie dripper--> Cheapie Dripper (ERA RDA clone) - Sun-Vapers.com

this link is to RDA Octopus ---> Smoktech RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer)

The Cheapie Dripper (also called the Phoenix V4 at Hoosier vapes IIRC) is a pretty good copy of the ERA. The Phoenix V4 is $7.99 at hoosier, I think you might have purchased the same dipper as the "cheapie" just called a different name.

The Octopus is anodized aluminum, this dripper is stainless steel, including the drip tip. The Octupus is larger, this dripper is about eGo sized.

I drilled my air hole out and it's been working great. Tried running a mesh wick, but it's so cramped inside due to the size that I couldn't get it to wick well. I went with a Hybrid wick setup and it's been performing great. Building these with silica is even easier.

I only have two gripes. First, what Sunvapers says is true, the outside post spins if you try to screw down the allen screw too hard. I'm thinking of using some silver solder to attach it a bit better. The second gripe, it doesn't have a lip at the top of the deck. This makes putting the top back on over the wicks a bit of a hassle. The Igo-L has that lip that the wicks can sit in, so they don't get caught between the top cover and the base. This dripper doesn't have that, but then again the Octopus doesn't have that lip either.

These things are dirt cheap and are very solid (being stainless steel and everything) the Octopus feels very cheap in comparison. You might as well pick one up, I'm wanting to buy even more, they work great on eGos with 1ohm 28ga kanthal over a hybrid wick ;)

Just a heads up,

I just got the "squid" in stainless steel from madvapes. On the outside, it looks identical to the Cheapie Dripper/Phoenix V4. On the inside, the posts are the thumscrew kind, and there is no issue of spinning posts. It was like $10 for the SS I believe.

I'd say the SS "squid" is far better than the Phoenix V4/Cheapie dripper. Same size, same materials, but better quality posts.
