Hate my ProTank II

I am really starting to hate this thing. At first, it was alright.. but that's because I had nothing to compare it too. After purchasing the MUCH cheaper Kanger EVOD I will never go back to the ProTank II.

I get much better vapes and taste from the EVOD. I don't get the constant gurgling or leaks that come from the ProTank. I've lost so much e-liquid when I wake up overnight and find all the juice on the outside of the tank. Not just that, but it's a constant fight to get this thing to work properly. I don't believe it's the atomizer/wicks because I am using one that I took out of the ProTank and on the EVOD and it hits like a tank.

Going to purchase a couple more EVOD's and retire this ProTank II for good.

Anyone else like the EVOD better?

Is everything on the protank connected snugly? I use both the protank 2 and evod, and find very few differences, other than the protank having a slightly tighter draw. I get more leaking with the evod, though it's just a drop on the battery connection. Have been using a protank 2 for about a month now with no leaks whatsoever.

I like both my pt2 and evod, have had no issues with either. Same as above your tank setup right. Check everything is snug and you should be set. It should hit better then evod and those smaller post evod coils do give a tighter draw.

Most of the time, it leaks out the atomizer and into the battery. When this happens, i don't lose too much liquid but it gurgles a lot and I have to blow out the access liquid stuck in the tube. After a couple more pulls it's back to gurgling and leaking into the battery.

Sometimes though, it will leak out the sides of the tank.. but that does not happen often. I am pretty sure I have it on snug, maybe too snug if thats possible. This much maintaince should not be required to get this too work properly. I haven't had to touch the EVOD in 2 days.. just refill and go. After my 1st day I was already experiencing leaking with the ProTank.

I'm sorry your having problems with your Protank 2. I'm sure theres an easy solution for you. What exactly is the problem? A lot of very knowledgable folks here to help. I really like mine, but I like my iClear30 even better.

4 of my 8 EVODs cracked at the base of the mouth piece (not using tank cracker juice - ie bannanna or cinamon)
Where are you leaking at? If you don't want to waste juice fill with water, dry off, wrap in a paper towel and monitor
Have you torn down the PT2 and checked the O-Rings?

I've had my protank II mini about a week and love it. Have you checked to make certain the upper and lower gaskets are not kinked. Perhaps from over tightening.

I get that alot too. sometimes it will work flawlessly one time then i fill it and the very next time its dry hitting or flooding or both with the same head. I've found no rhyme or reason to it.
So i just upgraded to RBAs.

I guess its normal for the O rings to come off the top and bottom of the tank right? I just dry it off overnight.. or with compressed air.. and then put the O rings back in..

It sometimes leaks from the bottom of the tank.. or through the coils and onto the battery.

I might consider giving it another shot, I'll do it with some juice I do not like much though.

Good call on the o-rings. There should be 2 on both ends of the Pyrex tube (they're usually in the metal housing, but sometimes they come out when I take mine apart).

Edit - oops, I didn't type fast enough. So, the same head will leak in a protank, but not in an evod?

ProTank has amused flavour compared with Evods and that is a fact.
If you want a good Glassomizer with same flavor like Evod get the Davide Mini. That atty is just the best I ever had and ni plastic to crack.

Whenever I fill anything up, I set it aside upright for awhile to see if it is going to leak. I don't want juice inside MVP2.

Have you changed the coil head to see whether it does this with others? Have you checked all the O-rings (including the ones on the coil head)? Are you snugging but not overtightening to the battery? Did you remove any of the flavor wicks before the leaks began? Have you flipped the silicone cup??

I am pretty sure I have it on snug, maybe too snug if thats possible.

Both loose and too tight can pose problems.

Sounds like the base might be bad on your pt2, since the same coils works fine on your EVOD.

I use EVODS, Protank II and mini's. No issues w/any. I'm a clean freak and always check my o-rings, lube the threads on occasion w/the stuff I got from 4sevens.

Compared to the Protank, the EVOD seems to prefer a cooler coil. You'll want 0.5 to 1.0ohm more resistance with the EVOD than with the Protank, otherwise you risk burning fairly quickly.

Protanks are good, but often much better with a rebuilt coil. Don't give up on it yet.

Protank II works great. Never used an Evod because i figured it would be the same as a T3, meaning it wouldn't last. Don't get any leaks at all with the Protank or Protank II. Don't even leak over night.

I have a davide mini and its terrible for me. The small fill holes don't allow liquid to fall onto the atomizer properly and I often get dry hits which leads to a rubbery taste because the rubber grommet is getting burned. The build quality however is much better than a mini protank and the threading is superior.

I've had my Protank 2 for about a 1 1/2 weeks now. No problems, love it, except my 2.2 ohm coil dropped down to 1.5 ohms after two days and stayed there. A little leaking onto the battery but no tank leaks.
