Hey... long time reader & first time poster.

I've got a 510 and can't take it anywhere because I'll blow through both batteries so quickly... and I have no use for a PCC if I can get an ecig that just lasts that long in the first place.

I've been considering buying an eGo for a while but have been reluctant due a) to being unsure what I should get (do I need a new wallcharger or will my existing one that came with my 510 kit [DC 5V & 500mA] work?] and b) having little funds to shell out another $80+!

PS: I'm in Canada in case you're going to recommend me anything :p

Thanks!

If you do get the adapter your eGo will take many many hours to charge. It's better to get the eGo fast charger (be warned, you must not try to charge your little baby 510 batts on the eGo fast charger, they just can't handle it).

But if you were to buy a couple of eGo batts and a charger, it's not that much more to just get a whole new eGo starter kit... IMO, that's the way to go because then you have spare atomizers too.

@Tigerr1972 Yeah I just saw them... not all that bad.

@moonchild I'd like to avoid carry more stuff around if I can just carry one (ie 8 510 batteries+2 chargers vs. 1 or 2 eGo batteries :p)

@Rosa I might do that... OR I might just buy a couple batteries, a charger and a pack of cartomizers. I have so much to think about :p

I can only vape so much on the cart/atty. I find it tastes odd sometimes and refilling them is a pain. Perhaps a cartomizer would be a better solution? Any input on the eGo-T?

Canadian Electronic Cigarette Happy/Joye eGo USB Passthrough Battery

CDN supplier who has outstanding customer service.

Joye eGo USB battery / Joye eGo USB passthrough - Joye eGo spare parts Heaven Gifts

CHINA supplier, $10 cheaper and with slow shipping ($3) it could take a month MAX sometimes one week.

I'm using mine right now and it was suggested to me by a veteran months ago. It's basically a 650mah ego battery with a built in charger. It comes with a detachable cord that plugs into the device to connect it to a usb slot on you computer or AC adapter (sold seperatly)

OTOH since you know you like vaping... a mod would actually save you money in the long run. 510, Ego, Riva etc... only last for a few hundred charges. Thats why I ordered this GLV-2 Super Mini 3.7 Volt Electronic Cigarette Pre-Order Kit [GLV-2-SUPER-MINI-PRE-ORDER-KIT] - $85.00 : Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor It's a fair price for something that looks cool, lifetime warranty, and uses $8 dollar replaceable batteries. There are soooo many great mods out there besides the GLV.

Your new so read on and good luck!

Do you find filling them a hassle? I don't particularly want to have to use a syringe to fill my cartomizers.

You don't have to use a syringe, I never did. There are a couple of other ways: if you get the Boge 510 soft cap kind, you just pop off the end cap and drip into the filler inside. Or you can use the condom method; unwrap the carto of all packaging, take one of the rubber sleeves that it came in and fill it half way with liquid, slowly push the empty carto into the sleeve of liquid mouth end first and when you see liquid coming out the battery end stop and cap and wrap - done.

The 510 cartos will work with an ego, but they also have mego cartos. The regular 510 cartos just need to have the top popped off to refill (YouTube - Care and Feeding of Cartomizers Part 1) or can be condom-filled (YouTube - A Great Way To Fill Cartomizers) using the plastic piece on bottom. The mega cartos Do have to be filled with a syringe (YouTube - Filling an eGo Mega cartomizer). If you want to drip, eGo's use 510 atomizers or eGo Mega atomizers. If you don't mind a wait for shipping, you could order from China, I normally go through HealthCabin. They have a supplier page here and pretty good prices.

Greenhouseone has cartomizers $5 for a pack of five LR510 Cartomizers Pack of 5 I only mention GH1 because I inquired about CDN shipping and he informed me that only 2 percent of his orders get "refused" at kustoms. They also have atty's and nik, that will be my next order. He also told me that if an order is "refused" then he can re-ship because there is a good chance his product will make it back to him. I'm not aware of CDN kustoms seizing (destroying) product which is what the USA is facing currently. This is good news for CDN's but orders get held up at CDN kustoms for weeks so if you cant wait then you must order from Canada. I also heard that keeping parts and juice on separate orders will help get the parts to you safely as juice is kustoms main target right now.

oh yeah dripping rocks! lol

OP - you are a very perfect example of someone who needs an ego-t or Inferno T kit from volcanoecigs.com. I'd go with the Volcano brand since they offer several shipping options and the tank atomizer is the cheapest on the market. Their ego version is called the 'INFERNO' - same design basically. The carts/tanks are super easy to refill (forget you've ever seen or heard of cartomizers) Volcano has those in diff colors and still cheaper than anyone. And I'm not trying to sound like a Volcano fanboy, but I'm recommending their kit or brand to everyone in your situation and especially new ecig users. The cost is the best and the style is an added plus.

As far as what you own already, if you have a dc wall plug with a female usb, you can just buy the passthrough battery and a usb-to-mini cord and that'll take care of everything.

Here's a few links:

or if you don't want the kit but the battery and charger only:

OP,

If you already own perfectly good atomizers & cartridges for your 510 and you are satisfied with them and you only want more battery life, no need to get a full Ego kit. Order an ego battery passthrough type and a cone to make it look pretty. You will be happy with the 650Mah one, happier with the 1000Mah one. That would be like $30 bucks, $35 at the most.

So I'm getting the hint that a passthrough would probably be the best thing for me... charges while you use it, can do it in the car, computer, etc.

I've read that they're bad to put through usb ports, though? What's the deal with that?

The power supplied by your computers USB ports may not be enough to properly power the PT. (Try saying that three times really fast!) Sometimes it can fry motherboard components and your battery, too. It's always a good idea to just use a USB wall wart that's at least 2amps and suitable for 5V. Same thing with a car adapter.

Other than that, a PT would be a great option for you!

:eek:ff topic: Your username is making me want waffles, eggs and bacon...

So the USB passthru EGO style battery is so new that know body really knows how safe they are to plug directly into your computer. I use my macbook for charging and vaping all the time for the last 3 months. The worst case scenario would be a short circuit in the device causing the USB port on the computer to overload. All your doing is charging a battery thats not unlike a cell phone, camera or MP3 player. I wouldn't plug a passthru into my lappy that didn't have a in-line battery acting as a buffer. I also wouldn't plug the $2 510 passthru into my lappy even though it has an in-line battery because the wire is so thin and prone to cracking.

I'm super happy with my EGO stuff, but after 7 months I'm really looking forward to getting my mod. My Ego is living on borrowed time because I use LR attys.

+1 for the cheap walmart AC - USB wall charger.

I only plug into a computer when I absolutely need to. Like when I'm waiting for a battery to charge or I'm at work lol. I hate being tethered to a computer anyhow.

Having the built in charger on the ego usb passthru is pretty cool just for the fact that you can plug it in at night and not have to take the atty off and clean out the juice that gets on the reg battery connector.
