Have a first-gen ecig and want to re-use its empty cartridges by filling it with custom vape juice?

Hello all. New member to the forum and looking for some advice. I recently (about 2 months) ago decided to give vaping a try after smoking "analogs" for nearly 10 years on/off. And just like many others, I opted for the cheapest and easiest option by ordering one of those starter kits from an online vendor (made in China..ehh). Once I realized they were trying to scam me by automatically sending refills every other month (without my prior consent) I decided to stop doing business with them. I am now left with a first-gen cigarette pen (it's actually not so bad...and battery life is decent) as well as about 25 empty cartridges. What I would like to do now, as my next step, before investing in the Silver Bullet and/or ProVari is try to re-fill these empty cartridges with e-juices from reputable vendors. So, my question is, what equipment will I need to accomplish this besides the e-juice itself. Do you fill the cartridge with syringes or is there something else more economic that I could use to re-fill the empty carts? Thanks for any feedback!

I can't answer you question about how to refill those Carts...but why not, instead of spending upwards of 200.00 on a Provari, why not spend around 50 bucks and get a good Variable Voltage battery, charger, couple of Nova's or Kangers and you'll be good to go?

I'm sure there may be a way to refill those Carts...but if I remember correctly, you can only do it a few times, then they have to be tossed. With a Kanger or Nova, you can use them and reuse them for months on end, as long as they are washed every once in awhile..then you just buy a 2-3.00 head to go in them when they burn out. You can get a 1300mAh Spinner by Vision that will last you about 12 hours on a charge, for around 25.00.

I'm sure some one who knows all about refilling those Carts will come along and Chime in...just wanted to let you know that theres TONS of other Options out there that are much cheaper than a Provari

Hi and welcome to ECF. Are they cartridges+ an atomizer or cartomizers? If they can be unsealed all you need is a bottle of juice which comes with a dripper nozzle.

Thanks for your input Mr. Syeti. Like I said I'm very much a beginner to this and need all the advice/input I can get. What I want to do is get some e-juice to refill these with while I look into and research my next big investment. After all, 25 cartridges * 2-3 recharges should yield me at least 50 which should give me more than enough vaping time during my research phase :D

It is a cartridge + atomizer, I think. I attached a picture so please have a look. I was able to pop the cap off and see a little hole for the dripper nozzle to go into so it looks like I'm in business. Can you recommend a good e-juice vendor that will have a dripper nozzle come with it? Thanks :)

Your pic looks the V2cig that I started with. It is almost certainly that general type. I still have a bunch of used cartridges that I refill from time to time, even tho I've bought other more advanced systems.

Go to Youtube and search "refill V2 ecig". There are tons of videos. Most only require that you have one of the rubber end-caps (or condoms) that the cartridges came in-not syringes or anything. If you threw all those away, you might have to buy an extra 5-pack to use that method, although if you have a syringe that would work just fine.

Welcome to ECF!

I hope you find your visits here informative and fun. We have a huge community here that can be incredibly helpful in your journey. Feel free to ask any questions, as I'm sure there will be many with an answer for you! :)

Please see the links in my signature below for New Member information, as well as informative forums and threads on CASAA (Consumer Advocates for Smoking Alternatives Association) and the latest legislative news and info.

Also, many vendors have needle tips, or syringes (blunt tip and/or needle tip). I'm sure someone will be along any minute to provide names or links for you! :D

Again, welcome to ECF!! :vapor:

Phew! I actually have about 3-5 of those laying around...who woulda thought they'd ever come to use again. Going to check out some YT videos now.

The only other thing I'm undecided on is where to purchase e-juice. There are just so many vendors (I have over a dozen bookmarked from this forum alone).

Can anyone chime in on this? I was able to narrow it down to between Ahlusion, Heathers Heavenly Vapes, and VaporBomb.

EDIT: After watching some videos, I realize I have a slightly different variation of the v2 ecig because the condoms on mine are half the size of the ones from the v2's...therefore I don't think that trick will work for me. I guess I can always just drip the ejuice directly onto the cotton inside the cart. Would that work? Or do I have to inject it through that little hole that goes into the cotton?

This is the right way. Make sure to always refill with the same, or a related flavor. I also have old ones, with the cotton removed, and washed, for dripping just a few drops to taste-test new flavors.
Racking my brain over here trying to decide where to purchase from.
I use Mount Baker Vapor. Check out those threads. Don't get turned off by the extreme fan-mail on the MBV threads, just regard it as a measure of how good that vendor is. I prefer dealing with only two well-established vendors, because of the frequency of cc fraud.

If you can see the filler material, then dripping onto it is the easiest way to fill. If the hole you refer to is going through the center of the cotton, then you do not want to drip into that. It will just leak out the bottom.

The three e-juice vendors you mention are all good. I'll add Goodejuice, Pink Spot Vapors and ECBlend to the list, but there are many, many more. Juice is all about personal preference and any that you see listed in the vendors section are worth a try.

I recommend Mt Baker Vapor very highly. Their prices are as low as you can find. They are very good at getting your order out and into your mailbox fast. I've had good luck refilling my V2 carts many times. Although I've moved on to more advanced gear, its good to have some refilled cart for my KR808-D batteries. I've refilled some of my carts 5 times already and they still work fine.
