Some of these responses are eye opening.

I've got a Joyetech Ego with a 1000 mAh battery that lasts me all day plus a few hours into the next. No Spinner or Twist though.

I've got a Halo Triton with a 650 mAh battery that vapes as well as my Ego and that little battery lasts almost a day and a half on a single charge. Since I have two I simply swap them each morning before I leave for work and don't touch it again until the next morning.

Hearing people say they don't even get 1 day out of a 900 mAh Spinner is a little disheartening.

(I've also got an SVD with a 2600 mAh battery that lasts right about 2 days per charge)

As far as how much liquid you will go through, my guess would be between 3ml and 4ml a day based on your smoking habits and choice of ecig. My wife and I go through right about 3ml a day after spending 30 years smoking 1+ packs per day. However, some of these mod users have rigs that will suck up the juice and produce enough vapor to create a fog bank. They'll go through 2-3 times as much liquid as I do, but also tend to use much lower nicotine levels than I do as well.

Thanks again for everyone's input .... I will buy a spare battery just in case. Maybe a cheap 900 mAh non-adjustable.

Now I have to figure out what kind of juice to order, and from whom, but I guess I should save that for another thread.

Like I said before ... initially, I don't really care so much that the juice has fantastic flavors. The nicotine is what is most important for me as I initially start out vaping (at least I think so).

I don't even know a good place to buy juice ... If a just buy a couple of bottles of it on the internet, the shipping will more than likely cost as much as the juice. Maybe I would be better off buying the juice from one of the local E-cig 'Vape stores' that have opened up around here.

To start it will. As you get used to it, the battery will not make it most likely. I would get a 1300 mah vision spinner with that 900 as a backup. You must have a backup. I started on 24 mg and was a 1- 1.5 PAD Marlboro 100's full flavor guy. I only vaped about 2-3 ml a day to start. Now I do a little more but I have dropped my nicotine to 12 on some flavors and 6 on some. The only reason is I started ordering the 6 and I have 12 left. Eventually I will go to 0mg

Your best bet is buying samplers. You'll pay a set price for several small bottles in different flavors. And the flavor may be more important than you think it can really make or break the experience. Once you have your five posts head over to the general liquid forum and you'll get more ideas and recommendation than you'll know what to do with

Good idea. In the long run this is a very small investment to pay when you're smoking 2 packs a day.

There are multiple internet vendors. Honestly, everyone has their personal favorite. This is the toughest part to me which is why I say yes to doing...

THIS^ Nearly all of the shops in my area allow you to sample the juice that they are selling. LOOK AT EVERY SINGLE SHOP IN YOUR AREA. Take mental notes when you are there. There are about 7 in my area and they all have different specialties.

Congrats on trying ecigs.

You could go to a local shop for tasting. Most let you sample flavors til you find one you like. Once you get an idea for your palate, venture into online vendors so you don't end up with a box full of things you don't care for. Remember this, it's hard to find one that tastes like a burning cig. I realize flavor is secondary, but you'd probably like to at least enjoy it.

I have 19 posts already ... I thought I would post here just do to the fact that my original question here was really a very "New Guy That Don't Know Nothing" type of question. :D

If you haven't made up your mind 100%, I'd like to suggest an iTast VV. It comes with 5 clearomizers and a charger. It also has the ability to be used while charging. It got me off a 40 year habit. I am filling a clearomizer twice a day and it's no big deal...takes about 2 minutes. Using it all day every day, the battery indicator has never gone out of the green. I charge it every night.

Still probably wouldn't hurt to have a backup of some kind. I need to look into that, too.

One thing good about the eGo is it is a "pass through" device which means you can use it while charging (unless it is severely drained which I don't suggest you let happen). I bought an iClear 30 which is a 3ml tank. I found this lasts me an entire day and then some. I keep several tanks topped off with different favors as I have been dealing with a taste issue lately and found changing flavor quite frequently helps with this. I don't think ADD helps with this either! My eGo is also a 1,300 vv so that helps with the battery life too. The good thing is that you are asking before buying not after, like the ones answering your questions. The difference between a wise man and a fool is the wise man learns from other people's mistakes!

I'd be surprised if either lasts all day but it depends on how often you vape. I was a pack and half smoker of Marlboro Lights for longer than I'd care to admit so we're more or less comparable.

I was using 1000mAH Joyetech twists and most days that'd last from 6am to 10pm or so but some days it'd die at 6pm. Just depended on how often I was vaping that day which usually depended on my stress level that day. I was using 3ml clearomizers but effectively they were 1.5 or 2ml since you can't really vape all 3ml. If I was using a single coil set up it seemed as if the juice went further and, at most, I'd top it off once a day. Using a dual coil setup I'd through it quite a bit quicker and it wasn't unusual for me to top it off twice.

Even figuring on 2x refils per day I was vaping 4.5ml tops so a 30ml bottle would last a week. At $20 per 30ml I was waaaay ahead versus buying a carton of Marlboro's so my advice would be if you're serious about quitting go ahead and invest in 2 batteries, 2 of whatever you choose to hold your juice and a AC to USB charger. That way no matter what happens you're always covered and your investment isn't a lot more than you'd have spent on a carton of analogs anyway.

Obviously, I would be re-charging the battery before I go to bed at night.
Not a good idea to charge batteries unattended as the shut off chip has been known to fail resulting in overcharging and possibly an explosion and/ or flames- rare but it almost happened to me.

I am retired now, so I find all the time I need to smoke. And like I said, I smoke 2 packs a day of full strength cigarettes ... I plan on starting out with 24 mg nicotine E-juice.
Smoked very strong Rez tobacco 1 1/2 PAD for 44 yrs. Started at 36 mg. 24 mg sounds right.

1. Do you think the 900 mAh battery will last me all day until I go to bed?
2 PAD full flavor- I don't think so- maybe last 1/2 day if chain vaping. 100 mah= 1 hour before recharge is needed so theoretically it should have a maximum of 8.5 vape hours. Realize also vaping at a higher voltage will drain the batt quicker. I would consider also getting a 1300 mah batt for use at home or a Pass Through- can be vaped while charging.

2. Do you think the 2.4 ml Clearomizer will last all day without re-filling?
Most new vapers use 3-5 ml per day- some even higher. For the first 2 months I vaped 50- 60 ml per week.

3. Lastly, about how many hours do you think the battery will need to fully charge using a standard Joyetech 'eGo' Fast Charger rated at 4.2v / 420 mA?
About 4 hours.

I am so new to vaping that I haven't even tried it yet :)

I want to attempt to stop (or slow down) a 2-pack per day Marlboro Red habit that I have had for the past 40 years.

Before I order some E-cig parts on the internet, I thought I would ask you good folks if the e-cig stuff I am ready to order would last me all day long. Obviously, I would be re-charging the battery before I go to bed at night.

The battery I am thinking of buying is a 900 mAh 'Vision Spinner VV Ego' adjustable voltage model.

The Clearomizer will be a 2.4 ml 'Kanger T2' that has a 2.4 ohm coil.

Thanks a bunch for any answers you could provide,

You sound like you know what you're doing. If what you're getting doesn't quite cut it i have no doubt you'll be on the case in a second. You order something one day get it through the post the next. You'll soon find out what works best for you and plenty of us are still looking for the next best thing !.

Initially I will more than likely be smoking in conjuction with vaping, but I really would like to stop the cigarettes completely if I find enough will power.
Once you get set up with good gear and juice that you like, very little willpower should be needed.

BTW ... How long do you think your average coil will last if subjected to daily use like I would be doing? ... a month?
My coils last (with washing and dry burning):
dark juice- 1 month
light juice- 2 1/2 months
At the 2 1/2 month point the coils are still firing but the wick is beginning to shard/ disintegrate.
Even after you've changed out the Kanger T2 heads don't toss the old heads as one day you may want to rebuild them- easy and extremely inexpensive.

You were a big help ... I guess I will be vaping just about as much as I now smoke with a 2-pack per day habit.

As far as flavor ... I guess just getting the 'nicotine fix' right now is most important to me. Taste is secondary.

If that really is the case then you're going to need 36mg nicotine solution.

2x Vision Spinner 1300mah batteries

2 x Protank II

1 x 5 pack spare coils for Protank

1 x usb charger for ego type batteries

1 x wall plug for usb charger.

If you use 36mg nicotine e liquid you'll soon forget you ever smoked in the first place.

About 4 hours.

With 36mg i expect you'll be vaping not much more than 4 mil a day

The point of the variable voltage battery is because any clearomiser you decide to get needs more volts than the non adjustable batteries can provide. With non adjustable batteries the vapour production simply isn't enough.

I do hope you make the right choice. If you really do want to cut down and eventually give up then you need to hit the nicotine really hard.
