Yes, I do have a few bottles hidden.

But I don't lie about them. My better half still smokes, and she has no grounds in an argument over $ spent. Nor does she often notice a new bottle which are kept in plain sight in my office.

I use a few of my indoor bottles, then I replace them with others from the "Dungeon of Steepage"!

Don't lie! It will come back to bite you in the .... eventually. :D
My other half quit smoking in '89 and never gave me grief about my smoking. Matter of fact he would buy me cartons of cigs.
Now that I'm vaping he never says anything about the gear that I buy and the drawer and cabinet full of juices. He thinks it's right funny.
Since he doesn't buy the cigs anymore he just hands me some dollars to my vape expense. Works for me!
He loves it that I smell a WHOLE lot better. :)

I feel bad buy my wife and I both vape and just bought both of us new batteries and Nautilus minis. I should mention we have about 5 different ego style batteries and 4 different clearmizers and I am always on the search for a better taste that is economical. Well I just discovered the Kanger Sub Tank and Aspire Atlantis and would like to buy one tomorrow and of course now I need a battery capable of sub ohms.

Here's the deal I told my wife I wanted to get a new tank and battery but just a few weeks ago I bought the Nautilus mini for her and I with better batteries and she responds with can we just use what we got for a while? Is it bad I'm still thinking about going ahead and buying one tomorrow? Have you ever had to hide your purchases or just fudge on what it costs? And if you're going to get the evil eye which is more worth it the Atlantis or Subtank? I'm thinking Subtank.

I'm lucky...I only have to answer to myself about where my money goes. But I also have a business to run...my "wife" if you will. Since the income from that is what ultimately supports my vaping wants/needs, it has to be invested in first before any vaping purchases are made. Just yesterday I had to shell out 800 bucks on folding tables and chairs, which means at least another couple weeks of waiting before I can finally press the "confirm order" button on the new Lemo, Kayfun 4, and Taifun GT 2 I've got in my cart. Do you know HOW BADLY I WANT THOSE LITTLE TOYS??? What can I do? My students need a place to park their butts, so that comes first.

I did manage to re-up on liquid this week...that's kind of a necessity...but had to go with the cheap, $6 / 30 ml stuff again. Not my preferred liquid, but it'll keep me voccupied for another few weeks. Business before pleasure.

But hey, if you have the money, a Kanger Sub would be an easy sell for your wife. Just tell her it's rebuildable, so with a little Kanthal and cotton you'd be saving big bucks on replacement coils in the long run. It's certainly better than going against her wishes, let alone outright lying to her. I mean, that's how I convinced myself to 'invest' in my Kayfuns at a time when the money could have been better spent on business-related things. *Sigh*... who am I kidding...the money can ALWAYS be better spent on "business-related" things. :)

I may or may not have fudged amounts before but overall it hasn't bees an issue with my wife. I got her into vaping and well, the day I came home with my new istick she said oh, I like that get me one too! So I ordered her the same set up. She's really jumped into it with me though I do have more of a thirst for new gear she is running a kayfun and a RDA on a mech so that's a win. I went though a ton of stuff until I got where I am now, I would get one thing and it was good but then there was something better and on and on it went. I finally found what works and I stick with it now, no NEED to buy new stuff, just a want. Eventually I am going to buy some authentic stuff but for now my clones work just fine.

Agreed.

I've been married for 29 years. My wife never smoked. She never really gave me a hard time about it, but she's so happy I switched to vaping she now buys me pieces of exotic wood make mods from. She also encourages me to stockpile nic base, 'cause she knows full well from previous attempts to quit that I'm insufferable without nic. I think I'll keep her. :D

I was smoking 6 cartons a month at 2 PAD. That was about $240 spent each month on cigs. I bought a Provari once I realized its cost was only a month worth of smokes. Once you have the hardware you like, it gets cheaper. There's always the urge to buy the latest and greatest mods when they come out, but you can read the reviews and spend some time gauging ECF members' satisfaction ratings on various hardware and you will save lots of money simply by not buying every new thing that comes out. Buy smart and you won't need to try everything that hits the market.

I spend about $30 a month on juice in 50ml bottles that cost about $11.99 each (Top Vapor from Madvapes). I quit buying coil heads and started using a Kayfun rebuildable atomizer. A box of Japanese cotton and a roll of 28ga Kanthal wire last me a year or more for under $15. I wind a coil once every month or two and dry burn the coil and change the cotton wick twice a week. I'm still using 18650 batteries that range in age from about 3 years old to a few months old. I'm rotating about six of those in my Provari and I'm also vaping an Eleaf iStick that charges through USB. It's small and compact and can charge through the USB port in the car. I take the iStick when I go out. It fits in a pocket and its small size is pretty stealthy for public vaping.

Do it right and the cost is low. If you buy everything in sight, you can max out the credit card!

My wife has never smoked and, consequently, doesn't vape. She was my biggest supporter to quit smoking so the first couple of months worth of vaping expenditures were largely encouraged. She did begin to become curious regarding my spending as the vape gear and liquids started piling up. Now, she just shakes her head as new mods seem to appear out of thin air, lol.

She did pick up my laptop once when I had a page full of Fasttech mechanical mods pulled up in a browser window. Her reaction? "Wow, those things are ridiculously cheap!". So, if she now assumes all of my kit comes from cheap Chinese vendors, I see no reason to correct her. ;)

I know I've seen the phrase "my biggest fear is that when I die, she'll sell my stuff for what I said I paid for it"... That wasn't you, was it?

Even a little lie can kill a great relationship . So NO I never lie

Was going to post the same thing...

Although if the original poster is exploring options... how long do wish to continue to be married or maintain happiness in the home?

There's no upside to dishonesty... the truth eventually will come out. Hiding stuff may delay the consequences but the price increases exponentially. Upfront and honest is always the better choice... and there's less to remember down the road.

Early on I hid my purchases from my wife:
Ordered with a creditcard she doesnt look at
Made sure I was at the mail box before her on vape mail day :)

Any more I'm honest about it because the deceit dust didnt feel right.

I hid that I smoked from my parents, so I find no reason to inform them of my vaping.
