Have you ever wondered what the vendors mixing stations look like? I used to work for a furniture rental place and delivered to home and buisness alike and in both situations seen some pretty horrific conditions. Being that most vendors we buy from are mom and pop run of the mill from my basement type setup (or so I suspect) what type of scenario the setup is that we all get our juice from. Imagine this.... someone sitting at a semi cluttered work bench in a dim lit basement with a coffee can labeled menthol with a pipette in it. Same scenario repeated for apple, orange, and so on and so on. They never wash the pipettes out for whatever reason. The exposure to dust and whatnot. Now take same situation and the person is sick with whatever run of the mill bug that is going around that week and sneezing on there hands or over the pipettes and then mixing the juice you are about to vape and inhale into your lungs. lol .... Yes I am that person that usually sees the worst and to this day I can't stand hand washed dishes because I feel most people can't adequatly hand wash dishes ..... I would venture to say this isn't fiction and is now or has happened.

This just popped into my head because I seen something on the news about local eateries and how they get inspected and score low and people still eat there. Rats running around on the bread and roaches breeding in the rice...... Now couple this with a non inspected juice vendor who doesn't post any pictures on thier site showing location and whatnot just grosses me out. Glad I guess I DIY my juice.

I love mom and pop shops. What I don't like is sleazy people ripping us off. I have found sleaze in every avenew of comerce. I whole hartedly agree that some of this stuff is made up in questionable circumstances, and many big outfits are so heavily regulated as to eat off the floor. I would add that I have friends that worked at a major ham and hotdog plant that won't eat pork again. But the folks at the loccal butcher eat meat like its water. I think if Mom and Pop shops showed the actual lab area on there sites this could help. The juice shops are now verrifing the nic content, as one shop caused a bit of an uproar not long ago. Possibly this is one of those instances. More knowledge is good knowledge.

No more than I worried about what was going on with tobacco crops. Rodents (and people) ...... in the fields, bacteria, fungi and the random toxic chemicals they use.

I've worked in labs in the food industry. Some people make themselves completely crazy with the 'what ifs' and others develop a blind eye to what's going on around them. I try to stay in the middle- a healthy awareness of what is going on around them. Let's face it, I did smoke cigarettes. If it was something that really bothered me, I'd stick to DIY. Just make sure that you're following the protocol that you talked about.

Kinetix, wow, thanks a lot. Your post is a nightmare to a germophobe like me. I never even thought about people coughing and hacking into my juice lol. I think i dont feel so good anymore.

lol I hear ya. I'm not so much of a germophobe but more like I care about where my stuff comes from. I like to eat out at places where I can see the kitchen (which I don't eat out much). But I think that vendors could become more reputable by showing where they mix since we are an unregulated industry. We don't need to see the recipe to the secret sauce just showing cleanliness and sterilization. Would you get a tattoo or a shot from a doc who didn't open the needles in front of you? NO! just a thought is all. I mean we did leave cigarettes to improve our health not sure I am on board to trade one bad thing for another so to speak.....

Oh and something else that popped into my head is in the food industry hepatitis is a big thing spread from people not washing hands after using the bathroom and then touching your food (not that this is common but does happen frequently look it up) Now go take a fat hit off that juice that sometimes splatters into your mouth lol
