I don't know if its just me but I am having some panics since couple days ago. Nothing really serious but it also can be from extreme stress due to my job (sales...its freakin' intense especially during slow season plus economic depression). I quit smoking like a month or so but started again on my business trip. Now I hopped on vaping and it has been about 1 week and a half, I feel nervous sometimes especially while I'm writing this thread. Have you guys had any panic like this when you switched? What kind of hard time did you guys came through?
in a word YES, totally!
I'm not going to say it's normal or abnormal, but everyone handles stress and quitting smoking differently. In my first couple of weeks, even though I was happy I wasn't smoking, out of nowhere I would get these random feelings like something was wrong, like I was forgetting to do something. Moreover, it would also feel like I was lost, like I was driving to an important event and I just realized I took the wrong turn and I have no idea where I am.
One thing I can say I learned about smoking and quitting (and this is just my experience), is that each cigarette I smoked was something in my day that I
really looked forward to. It was my reward for working hard, it made good times better, it was the crutch I leaned on when times are tough, it made driving fun and who even wants to drink coffee or beer if you don't smoke a cigarette ... you get the point.
I honestly thought I was going to be an analog lifer, which is why I was perplexed at first that vaping worked so well.
My recommendation,
don't listen to the thoughts your brain is telling you right now, your body is going through a lot with quitting smoking AND a stressful job...I heard someone say once,
my head and thoughts are like a bad neighborhood, don't go there alone, you can get yourself in a lot of trouble..." which basically means, keep doing what your doing with sharing about what's going on with friends, ECF, etc....Big help to get those thoughts out of your head
Another recommendation, (which helped me), I got high nicotine juice and any time I craved a cigarette or just felt a little crazy, I vaped my ecig exactly the same way as I did cigarettes, if I was at work, I'd go outside, if i was at home, I would go outside, etc ... Tricked my brain into thinking I was having a real cigarette
