I suffer from RSD/CRPS and along with the insane pain levels comes panic/anxiety attacks. Now I'm not saying that vaping causes any of the symptoms. I'm wondering if anyone else vapes to help alleviate panic or anxiety? I vape all day long. I mean a
ALL day. I don't want to hurt myself with that kind of nicotine exposure so my ADV is 0nic. When I need the nicotine I switch over to a tank that has a juice with 18mg in it (down from 24mg GO ME!!).
Anyway. I find that if I catch an attack quickly enough and grab my pv, I can often ward off or lessen the intensity of a panic/anxiety attack. The controlled breathing, watching the vapor, and the flavor go a long way toward helping with the symptoms.
Am I advocating vaping to people with panic/anxiety disorders who have never smoked? No. Just those of us who are "fortunate" enough to have these problems and are either smokers who need to switch to vaping or those who have already made that switch.
I find the flavor that I use for it matters too. Something smooth, with a huge vapor production. For me, it needs to be lightly sweetened, a clean flavor if you will. Right now I'm using AceEjuice's Orange Twist. Another one that works beautifully for me is Sweetwater Valley Tranquil Tea from Mountain Oak Vapors. Sometimes I need the nicotine when an attack hits. I never know.
I just wondered if anyone else is the same way?
Chronic pain sucks and anything I can find to help deal with all that goes with it I will try. I'd like to find a good Lavender or really smooth mint (not menthol). Anyone else do the same thing or have a suggestion for an ejuice?:vapor:

If you would like to know what RSD/CRPS is feel free to ask or visit RSDSA.org. I'm all about awareness and since there is no cure for this right now, the more people who know and who care, the more likely we are to find a cure for those of us who are burning alive.
Thanks folks!

Bless your heart....thanks for the link.
Thank goodness you had a doctor that was competent enough to know what thet were looking at..so many nowadays just aren't, and in many cases are to lazy to look.
I used vaping as a way to stop smoking but I do have some chronic (and incurable) issues myself and I find, like you that good juices and watching the vapor waft about is very relaxing.
I am not into sub ohm vaping or anything like that but have found that I'm a bit of a cloud chaser :D
Anything that makes one feel better is a plus.

My mother suffers from RSD also, God bless you it is a horrible disease.

She is still a smoker and I have been trying to convert her to vaping for a couple months now. I gave her an ego twist, and she uses it, but contiues to smoke. I will have to show her your post.

I dont really know how vaping can help relieve pain, but it can help with anxiety. Vaping can be very relaxing, the process of inhaling and exhaling, and slow controlled breathes can definitely help with an anxiety attack.

I've never tried herbal juices, but they sound like they would be very relaxing.

My doctors were prevented from treating me for nearly a year by workers comp but thats another story.
I find it can help some of us (rsd in particular) with the pain because anxiety and panic cause our pain levels to be higher. By bringing down the anxiety level, it can (in some cases. Each patient is different) bring down the pain.
My disease has spread and now affects nearly 75% of my body. Tomorrow i go in for a spinal procedure that may or may not help me. Anxiety is pretty high. Thankfully my tanks are loaded and my batteries are charged
I am glad to see i'm not the only person that finds cloud chasing helps. Makes me feel less nuts lol:D . I hate that others are in pain but, sometimes it helps to find people who honestly can say, "I know how you feel".
