This isn't a very advance vaping question but I don't know where else to turn. I'm new to vaping and start where I suspect most people do with a CE-4 type kit. It's been working for me but I'm guess Santa will be bringing my something of an upgrade. I've been bamboozled a few times off eBay buying batteries that are listed as 1100mah rated. The last few that I bought from a dealer seemed really light. They did not even hold a charge for much more than 30 minutes. I took the thing apart and found out why it was so light. This was the battery that was in it. Can anybody tell me about this battery? All I know about it is it's pure crap. Thanks in advance.

Put it on a scale, an average genuine 18650 battery will weigh about 45g and no nothing less than 42g.
I've order many vape mods & coils from eBay, just had to make sure they are listed as "genuine", when checking the QR codes they all made it.. but batteries are something else, if you have a local vape shop near you, you can check if they got batteries for your mod.. or order them from the websites that Sonicbomb listed :)

That's not an 18650. It's something smaller.

I agree. I took apart an eGo battery once and it contained a cylindrical cell enclosed in clear heat shrink with two wires coming off the same end like the one in the picture. No wonder it was rated about 450mah.

No I have not seen that battery and well, I don't want to either.

You are getting good vape advice, don't buy from ebay or amazon in most cases, be it a battery itself or a tube/stick mod that is kind of on the lower scale. I don't like that type of vape, period, but especially not counterfeited.

I don't know what it is, from whence you pulled it from ,but since you MAY be in the market for some new things, there are tons of better vapes out there. I'd probably start with the Innoken Kroma kit, as a recommendation but there are jillions of other good vapes for your purposes. You could check out the suppliers forums here for good deals on new (and older if you prefer) stuff, and you will know that it is actually authentic and etc.

There is no way to determine specifically what battery that is. Since it came from an eGo-style device, it is "probably" a LiPo chemistry battery, but it could in truth be any kind of lithium ion chemistry. Since there are no markings on the cell which could help identify the manufacturer or model, we will just have to call it a "generic" battery.

As others have already suggested, if you buy batteries from Ebay or Amazon for cheap, you're going to get exactly what you paid for. A cheap azz no name battery.

If you continue to use eGo-style batteries, stop buying off brand or generic models. Spend a little more for AUTHENTIC name brand eGo batteries such as Joytech, Kanger, or Vision for better performance and safety.

Thanks for the response. If there's anything good about getting ripped off on these batteries, at least they didn't cost much. But I do appreciate quality over quantity so I'm taking your advice. Thanks again.

Thanks for your response. Jillions? I'm not sure exactly how many that is but it sounds like a lot. :)

I'm guessing it's lower than 450mah. I do have some good 650mah batteries that outlast most of the ones sold as 1100mah. Sometimes you can't carry an 1100mah comfortably so I like going with what I call my snubby.
