Having a problem with flavors

I bought a DSE901 in August from a local store that recently opened in my town, and bought Menthol Medium juice, which is fine, but I decided to try different flavors. I really like Tasty Vapers Atomic Cinnacide, but I wish it didn't peel the paint off my attys. It is a little overpowering for an all day vape, but now menthol isn't cutting it. So I ordered a whole bunch of small sample sized bottles from different vendors that have great reviews. Almost every flavor I try has a nasty, greasy taste. I thought at first it was the liquid primer stuff that is in a brand new atty, because I'm now using an eGo, but I've really cleaned them out, and still, the flavors don't come through, I just get like a burnt vegetable oil taste. Almost all of the samples are 80/20 pg/vg. After I sampled them, I put them away for a week, and tried again, thinking they needed to age a bit. But I just tried Grand Marnier, and again I get yuck, no yum. I am shaking the bottles to make sure they are well mixed. I guess it's not a huge deal, since I did grab two big bottles of AC on sale for $10 each, and I like Vaporbomb's Mutt's Fire & Ice. Am I being too impatient, or expecting too much from the flavors? I have never liked regular tobacco flavor, so I'm wondering if some flavors are more suitable to my beat-up on menthol taste buds??

    Somewhere between here and there
I don't know how long you have been vaping but for me it took a few months for my tastebuds to work properly after smoking for so many years. One day a flavor would taste fine and not the next. Also, I do know what you are talking about when you say you get a greasy taste. I pick that same thing up in some liquids but am not sure why. My first guess is that it is the VG. I guess that because I don't pick it up on the straight PG liquids that I have. Mixing VG in with the liquids has become more popular than it was when I first started vaping and although I do like the increased volume of vapor, I tend to like the flavor more on the straight PG liquids. Perhaps it is just a certain kind of VG since I don't get that on all VG mixed liquids. Right now it might be a combination of tastebuds and the liquid mix.
