Great video! I haven't thought about horizontal coils in a bed. I've got my did setup with a vertical micro and cotton. I tried it horizontal but vertical works better for me. Threading the cotton down through the coil is fun.. just get it started and grab it with tweezers from the bottom and pull it through down into the tank. It wicks great.. no need for tilting. I've had the same setup with a micro with cotton in my rsst for over a week now, so there's no need to replace the cotton daily.

and in the rsst..

I'm not saying that I like it better than mesh but it's (to me) almost as good and definitely a whole lot easier! I've got mesh in one gene but everything else (kayfun, rsst, spheroid and evod) has a micro with cotton.

Long video but watched the whole thing and built my genesis in 2 min. Vapes awesome. Thanks

thanks, been vaping this for a couple days and found it to be working great. the only downfall imo is that I need to keep the tank topped off all the time. if it gets to low then you really need to over tilt it. I did try to drop a piece of cotton down the fill hole and through the wick, but it seems like there is no difference.

I did try this out once but I think I might have had to much cotton inside. it just didn't seem to stay wet for me. will try again with a thinner wick. the horizontal works good but you definitely need to tilt, but its so simple and vapes really good.

:toast: My Aga-T2 thanks you!

I drug it out of the box to try this, and it's doing well. I could get other cotton set-ups to work but they were a PITA. This is as simple and hassle free as can be.

same here, tried different set-ups but was always a pain to thread the cotton or silica into the wick hole. this set-up does work pretty good if you keep the take topped off. it seems like once it get below 3/4 tank you really have to over tilt.

I've experimented with a similar build, except that I put the cotton through the wick, just like I do with my Kayfun lite builds, and then push the ends of the cotton under the coil, and over the wick hole. It kinda makes the genesis into an auto dripper.

good idea. I tried threading through the coil and one tail down into the tank and the other tail slightly under the coil. it works about the same as the cotton just under the coil. I like this build but it only shines when you keep the tank topped off. once it gets under like 3/4 or slightly below it requires a lot of tilt.

I keep meaning to shorten up my vids. while I am making them they don't seem that long until I upload them. maybe less vaping would make them shorter. thanks for watching

Something I'm finding out (for myself anyway) is that with cotton, whether it's in the kayfun or a genesis, if the tails are too "full", it won't wick well. With the kayfun, while the cotton needs to fill out inside the coil, the tails need to be kinda on the skinny side and while they need to at least partially lay on the ledge, if mine get anywhere near the juice channels, the juice is blocked and my vape gets dry.. fast. and then the burnt taste.

Using cotton in a genesis.. again, the cotton needs to fill out inside the coil, but the tail needs to be skinny. If the part of the wick that goes down into the tank.. fills up the whole wick hole, it acts and tastes exactly like my kayfun when the juice channels are blocked. dry.

While I really enjoy using cotton over silica... when wet, the cotton gets dense and needs air and space around it to wick well. At least this has been my experience. I tried a micro and cotton in a little did clone and it didn't wick at all. The wick hole in the clone is tiny and in retrospect, I see now that I had too much cotton going down the wick hole into the tank. It just plain out won't wick unless it has some air and space around it.

So if you try a vertical micro coil... don't stuff the cotton down into the coil... it needs to thread easily and take up only about half of the wick hole.

I attempted to mount a horizontal coil on my DID (it was the only genesis I have free at the moment) and I kinda made a mess LOL.. so I took it off and mounted it vertical. I've seen the talk on the micro coil thread about placing the coil in a "bed" of cotton but haven't got that far yet. I think I'll try it on the igo-l tomorrow. I can't see how they're not getting burning or metallic hits from the top of the coil that doesn't have a wick through it. But it's obviously working for you guys.

Stop. Blowing. Vape. At. The. Camera.

Please, can we start a trend of blowing the vape to the side so the camera catches the thickness and fullness of the cloud???

All-in-all, I applaud your integration of cotton into the genny. I've done cotton in the viva nova and now a kanger protank, with much success, but am still on the cable and mesh collar/diaper for my aga-t+. I LOVE the taste with cotton so I've been looking for options.

Thanks for the video. You always have very in-depth, easy to understand, and quality resolution videos. :headbang:

Lol ..

I have been doing this since day one !

I came to the comclusion that just warapping a coil around a screw squishing it tight and sticking it in place then threading cotton though it and just a little in the tank hole was way easyer that the whole mesh ordeal

Figured that out on like week one with a genny lol. I cant believe more people dont know about this it jist seems like an easy natural thing to do.
