5.5 volts is way to high for em. i use that tank on 3 holes open. but you can fully open it if you want. i use wattage not volts but i can check and see what volts i use. i run it around 10.5/11 watts with 3 holes open haven't run into a problem yet. i was running into the same issues your having with it getting way to hot/not working at lower volts. i switched over to wattage mode on all my vv/vw mods. you should be fine around 4.0. try a new coil tho you might have smoked that one at 5.5. im not an expert these are just things ive picked up in my 2-4 months of vaping.

also are you using the old style or new style kanger heads?

Hey guys, I finally decided to make an account and start posting instead of just lurking through the forums.

I've been vaping for about a year and a half now. I started with iClear 16 on an ego twist, and now own some EVOD's, a Mini Protank 2, some MT3S's, and now have taken the plunge and purchased an Aerotank V2. I really enjoy being able to change the air intake, and it has good flavor for the first couple puffs, but I'm an all day vapor (stay at home student, so I can vape all day if I want to) and the performance seems to drop off after a few minutes.

I've tried turning up the voltage (I have a standard 3.2-4.8 twist battery) but once the flavor starts to come back it burns pretty soon after. I haven't had this much difficulty finding a "sweet spot" with any of my other tanks, and I'm really confused. Is it just the battery? Does this tank need a better or stronger battery to really shine? It came with 2 coils, and I know the kanger coils are definitely hit or miss, so perhaps its just faulty coils? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks guys.

Dude... honestly... you need to make the next step. Get yourself a boxmod such as a dna 30 and a rda like the tobh atty... kanger is no good, believe me.

It may not be good for you, but it's perfectly fine for millions of people around the world.

BTW, I don't care for the tobh myself, but I wouldn't dream of telling you that it's garbage because it obviously makes you happy.

And the DNA 30 technology is so yesterday. You should check out the DNA 40 from Evolv with temperature control and step down and reverse battery protection. :)

Live and let live.

Alright thank you. I just used these coils because they're the ones that were shipped with the tank. I'll be sure to order the other ones when I order more. It is vaping much better now. Thanks everyone for all the advice and tips.

You're welcome!

Happy vaping!

Although the Nautilus Mini is the weapon of choice for me, now and then I use the Aerotank V2 too. I have the upgraded coils in it, 1.5 or 1.8Ohms, the ones with 4 holes, not 2. In my experience, the 4 holes wick better. I must say, the Aerotank V2 even on the smallest air setting is a bitt airy for me on lower watts, of course.. I am able to crank the wattage up to 14 W, though, no problems, and then its ok with the air on the middle. The flavours OK. Not great, but OK.

Heheh... My remark was made in jest, but yeah, it never ends... This is indeed the golden age of vaping--let's just pray the FDA won't put a stop to it.

Sorry for the late reply, but thanks for the input. Since I've received advice on here, I've been vaping it with 3-4 holes open around 4-4.3v. I'm using the dual bottom coil with 4 holes on the coil. It was recommended to me earlier on the thread to switch to the 2 holes when I need to order more, so I look forward to seeing what those are like when I get around to ordering some.

I wouldn't mind upgrading to something else, but I'm a full time student right now and can't really afford it. Maybe with my tax return, but we'll see how much I need for bills.

You said you leave X holes open for airflow but that doesn't sound right for an Aerotank V2. The V2 base has one hole that you adjust making the airflow less or more. Are you sure it is not a clone?

It's a verified kanger product. It shipped with an air control valve with 5 holes in it, so I thought all the V2's did.

I have 2 authentic v2 at least I think that's what they are. One has one hole that turns and behind it is a tapered hole so when opened the intake is biggest. The newest one has 5 small holes on the inside peace and a slit that rotates. I vape at 11 to 12 watts on mvp and about 10 watts on a vamo. Doing this I'm trying to get
my cotton wicks just right. To much cotton they dry hit and to little they leak. It's a 50/50 shot for me now.
